"Cabin Fever"

818, I'm on the way (I'm on the way)
I'm thinking about you every day (Everyday)
I think we should spend some time away (Stay on the beach)
Stay with me in heaven everyday (Everyday)

I wanna feel your body on me
Tall palm trees and kaleidoscope dreams
I'm at home thinking about you and me

'Cause girl, I got that cabin fever
You made me a believer
Eating marshmallow pies, I can see it in your eyes
Girl, you're speaking and I wanna believe ya

Girl, I really wanna believe ya
If you love me, how come I never see ya?
Eating marshmallow pies while we're flying through the sky
Girl, I got that cabin fever

310, we're on the go (We're on the go)
Our life just like roller coast (Rollercoaster)
I sip slow, you took too long
My heart and soul, I call your phone, I'm on the road

I wanna feel your body on me
Tall palm trees and kaleidoscope dreams
I'm at home thinking about you and me

'Cause girl, I got that cabin fever
You made me a believer
Eating marshmallow pies, I can see it in your eyes
Girl, you're speaking and I wanna believe ya

Girl, I really wanna believe ya
If you love me, how come I never see ya?
Eating marshmallow pies while we're flying through the sky
Girl, I got that cabin fever

Up every night, got me up every night
Stuck on your eyes, this life it's full of surprises
Hand on your thigh, I got your bed on my mind

Dreaming 'bout it, summertime
Thinking 'bout it, summertime
She's a goddess, body divine
Girl, you're sweeter than a grape off the vine
Dreaming 'bout it, summertime

(I got that cabin fever)
(I got that cabin fever)

I'm sure I posted this in some other meaningless lyrics thread. I worry about myself sometimes, knowing them all by heart.

Miss Shapiro - Brian Eno/Phil Manzanera

All the peasants in the squares
At their tables and their chairs
Set to salvage certain numbers
From the wonder of the tundra
And the muses in the gloom
Counting needles in their rooms
On the carpet in the corner
In a kind of secret slumber
While the in formation rain
Slashed the dirty window pane to the square.

Smoky broads and smoky windows in the square
Come come charmer come on over for the day
Disappearing cocoa forests flash and die
Fortunes crumble all demolished in the bay.

Over forty pointed people
In the perfect pointed steeple
Looked to see the lucky number
Yes the wonder of the tundra
Had come up to fame and fortune
Singing his tune, my tune, your tune
Wooing daughters of the gifted
On the carpets of the courtrooms
While the tickets were expensive
The show was quite relentless in the square.

Dalai llama lama puss puss
Stella maris missa nobis
Miss a dinner miss shapiro
Shampoos pot-pot pinkies pampered
Movement hampered like at christmas
Ha-ha isn't life a circus
Round in circles like the archers
Always stiff or always starchy
Yes it's happening and it's fattening
And it's all that we can get into the show.

Ah, sorry, looking for lyrics in no language. Carry on...

Orson Well Yeah (Dan Peterson), Thursday, 30 July 2020 17:07 (three years ago) link

Mmm if we’re going for songs with made up languages or dadaist experiments these come to mind:

Elton John - “Solar Prestige A Gammon”
Talking Heads - “I zimbra”
Tom Waits - “Kommienezuspadt”
Adriano Celentano - “Prisencolinensinainciusol”
Magma’s discography
Most of Sigur Ros’ discography

✖✖✖ (Moka), Thursday, 30 July 2020 17:30 (three years ago) link

Most of these have been mentioned already...

✖✖✖ (Moka), Thursday, 30 July 2020 17:32 (three years ago) link

Enya and Cocteau Twins also have a couple of lyrics in made up languages I think?

Forgot to mention Yoko Kanno, she also does the fake language thing a lot.

LLaverne is doing a "gibberish" section on tomorrow's 6music breakfast show, lots of suggested Cocteau Twins and suchlike - I did suggest the pris song, but not this version:

think list compiler has basically just listed any song that has a "doo-wah", "shooby-dooby" or similar backing vocal, rather than finding songs that are just like complete nonsense, like, Korn's "Twist"

not up to Aerosmith standards (Neanderthal), Wednesday, 7 July 2021 14:59 (two years ago) link

Leftfield's Afro Left, which I once made a good stab at memorising and assumed was in an African language, is in fact absolute gibberish.

xpost: yeah i think most of those are just titles with madeup words and shooby dooby doo wahs

Here's the coda of "2nd Emotion" by Rosie Vela, words transcribed from the lyrics sheet:

How could you leave me standin' there, darlin'?
How? Ki me kin no von. So sorry now
I'll never come back. I'm in pieces
I can't decide about you
Ah. Ki me kin no von zin zorry
Ah. Ki me kin no von zin zorry now
A communo-bi-cause
I'm in "decide" I'm in. I can't see
And I can't know it now
I'm in "decide" I'm in. I can't see
Kin dy zin teasin'. A call it a day
I coulda been a bison. Ooh I on a vee
On din dy coulda been
On din dy con a zee. Oh, lover la lie. Da da
I can't see and I can't know and I can't feel ya

Bill Callahan, "Eid Ma Clack Shaw" (transcription from Genius, idk if there's an official lyrics sheet):

I fell back asleep some time later on
And I dreamed the perfect song
It held all the answers like hands laid on
I woke halfway and scribbled it down
And in the morning, what I wrote, I read
It was hard to read at first, but here's what it said:

"Eid ma clack shaw zupoven del ba
Mertepy ven seinur cofally ragdah"
"Eid ma clack shaw zupoven del ba
Mertepy ven seinur cofally ragdah"

Several early Clinic songs are almost entirely nonsense syllables, notably 'D.P.' and 'The Second Line'

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQVfLxuH7IE

There's a discernable "1,2,3,4" in there! Other than that, I'm lost.

The Chipmunks' "Witch Doctor" is a good one, in that the chorus is complete gibberish:

I told the witch doctor I was in love with you
I told the witch doctor I was in love with you
And then the witch doctor he told me what to do

He said that
Ooo eee ooo ah ah ting tang walla walla bing bang
Ooo eee ooo ah ah ting tang walla walla bing bang
Ooo eee ooo ah ah ting tang walla walla bing bang
Ooo eee ooo ah ah ting tang walla walla bing bang

― ✖✖✖ (Moka)

Ha, they're not even WORDS! The chorus goes 'Diggy diggy tommommonon' or something.

Another one from around the same time - the rap and the end of 'House Song' by the Beta Band. Sounds a lot like Kan Takagi's verse on 'Long Island Wildin', so probably fake imitation Japanese in the vein of Prisencolinensinainciusol

This thread has made me think of

Do be do be do do do oh
Do be do be do do do oh
Do be do be do do do oh
Do be do be do do do oh

And now I'll have to go and put toothpaste in my ears.
