Black folk guy, kind of in a Richie Havens bag, man... Put out a few cool records on Verve and Roulette. Can't find any info on him anywhere though. Little help? 'preciate it.

I used to love a guy named Don Crawford and his music. He was a "coffehouse" folk singer while I attended University of Wisconsin at Whitewater and I am not sure that this is the same guy but I found this link so I thought I would pass it on.

I saw Don Crawford playing at Florida Atlantic University at the college coffee house back in the early 70's. Sounds like the performer you talk about. I have his Roots & Branches album. Any current information on him?

He's also playing harmonica (badly) on this Lightnin' Hopkins album I have (on Verve Folkways).

I was just listening to Roots and Branches and reminiscing about the concerts he put on at UW-Whitewater in1970-1972. He was our University’s favorite and we wouldn’t let him off the stage. I hope he lived long and had a great career and would like to know if anyone else has any memories of his performances.
