CD80: USA Road Trip

like the one in that Lacquer 'Behind' video, this trip goes from LA to New York. each song on the CD soundtrack proposed must include a reference to a city/place/region either in the title or the lyrics, taking us closer to the final destination. the trip begins at 5am in LA, so an appropriate track to start with is:

Soul Coughing 'Screenwriter's Blues'

but where do we go from here?

I think the song is "Fun In The USA" by the Sumugglers.
Otherwise Hawaii by The Young Canadians visits Vegas I think.

eleven years pass...

Thought it may be “fun” to try smaller-scale/hyperlocal takes on this thread’s original concept—in this case, starting at the ocean and heading east:

Santa Monica - Everclear
West L.A. Fadeaway - Grateful Dead
Beverly Hills - Circle Jerks
West of Hollywood - Steely Dan
Hollywood - Rufus & Chaka Khan
Los Angeles - X
East L.A. - War
Pomona - Hi Fi Killers
etc....
