i just picked up Mahogany Rush IV in the dollar bin after hearing one of my friends mention him.

kinda stupid, kinda cool. big dumb 70s rock inna Steve Miller / Jimi Hendrix stylee.

He's basically a Hendrix copyist, right? I've never actually owned his records but I've auditioned a couple. Similar to Robin Trower in the Hendrix worship if I recall. Jason if you like the sound you might want to check out Trower's Bridge of Sighs or the Uli Jon Roth's Electric Sun records.

Dumb 70's rock indeed...I bought his Juggernaut LP at a yard sale, totally worth it for the track "ditch queen" but I can't listen to whole album in one sitting.

fifteen years pass...

Title track to Mahogany Rush's third album "Strange Universe" is a pretty cool track and one that seems to come out of nowhere. It's almost has a Neu!/Harmonia sound with the analog synth and repetitive grooving with the melodic guitar.

It is definitely a potential 'outlier' track for people to check that are not fans of the Frank Marino experience.
