Curious that so many literary modernists (Eliot, Pound, Wyndham Lewis et al) were on the Right, but so few musical modernists ever have been - I can't think of any offhand.
“As for Webern, he forsook his onetime socialist views to become an unashamed Hitler enthusiast, greeting the invasion of Denmark and Norway with almost orgasmic prose: “This is Germany today! But the National Socialist one, to be sure! Not just any one! This is exactly the new state, for which the seed was already laid twenty years ago. Yes, a new state it is, one that has never existed before!! It is something new! Created by this unique man!!!…Each day becomes more exciting. I see such a good future. It will be different also for me.”Excerpt From: Alex Ross. “The Rest Is Noise: Listening to the Twentieth Century.” iBooks.

xpost metal's extreme right/fascism problem has been a hard stumbling block for me since I started listening to it. not just the musicians, man sometimes you're just chilling with a metal fan and then he just drops something anti-Semitic or extremely racist and then looks at you funny when you look at him with a judgmental eye.
I mean, I bought a dirty rap album growing up, and maybe I worried the dude wasn't a good guy and had a rap sheet. I bought a 2nd wave black metal album, I had to worry that I was giving money to dudes who viewed the Third Reich as a "missed opportunity".

A couple of Dictators have lost their minds on social media with their conservative views.
Dick Manitoba has become fiercely Zionist and was anti-Obama, pro-Netinyahu and very pro-Trump. A couple years ago be blocked me on Facebook when I explained why I thought Netanyahu was a neocon warmonger who did not help Israel and pointed out that I did so as a Jew (on mom's side even though dad's last name is far from Jewish) and before he blocked me he sent me a message that I was the kind of jew they threw in the ovens.
Also Ross The Boss is a notorious pro-Trump derp. My run in on Facebook was a little less contentious - he called me a "shitbird" when I said something about Trump he didn't like on a mutual friend's page. I guess it makes more sense when you consider he was in Manowar too.

And it's not just the music Dale prefers from back in the [1930s]. "Things were much better back then, you didn't have a deficit," he says. ― Evan, Monday, 5 March 2018 16:57 (six years ago) link
xpost considering the shitty coordination policies of lots of plans, that's not surprising (albeit infuriating). Often secondary plans have "non-duplication of benefits" rules so instead of just picking up the rest of the tab, they will only pay the difference between what the primary plan paid, and what the secondary plan would have paid if they had been the primary plan. so that could mean if Plan A (Medicare or whomever) paid 80%, and Plan b normally pays 90%, Plan B only adds an additional 10%.
so you could be paying expensive premiums for two plans and STILL be responsible for 10% of your medical costs, which if you're old and have a chronic ailment that requires any kind of expensive recurring inpatient or outpatient care, can add up to excruciating totals.
