Sorry I'm missing something here. Why did Nicole say "why, so he can rape me?" and "I'm not jokiing". No matter how upstanding a poster is, in what realm is that funny or OK?

i think in the context it made sense as a thing to say, a bit over the top, but i don't think it counts as a "rape joke" of the tosh.0 variety or something, as the implication was the opposite. she was calling attention to what she saw as mordy's sexist condescension in response to her complaint that he derailed a thread about the social harm caused by rape jokes. regardless, i think people should stop "piling on" mordy because both he and nicole are very good posters.

what was my sexist condescension? i thought she was being a jerk to me and i chided her by saying i'd get the guy who yelled at her the last time she was a jerk to someone (that i remembered - maybe she's been a jerk a lot since then too).

wait, i don't think nicole got banned for thinking mordy was threatening her. it must have been a self-requested ban

in any event this all is stupid, obviously mordy was not threatening her

so nobody else reads that as nicole questioning Mordy's intention, w/r/t the bizarre hostility of dragging turangalila into it so that he & Mordy can gang up on nicole in the context of a conversation about rape jokes.

This is essentially what happened. Bringing up a person who I have reasons to be fearful of to intimidate me in that thread was a complete dick move, but I was wrong to respond the way I did.

Not sure why Mordy thinks I was being a jerk on that thread -- I said he doesn't listen to people so engaging with him doesn't accomplish much, and this thread has proved that.

That's all I want to say about this.
