hard-hitting ACA exposé on Chinese-owned butchers in Hurtstville putting 'help wanted' signs in their window written in "probably Chinese"
― fistula-la-la (sic), Tuesday, 9 October 2012 07:58 (thirteen years ago)
omg they did not say "probably chinese" did they!?
PS just watched Gillards speech, and wow. Why cant she be like that all the time ffs!?
― Una Stubbs' Tears (Trayce), Tuesday, 9 October 2012 08:05 (thirteen years ago)
well, they didn't
they asked an old Vietnamese-looking lady what language it was, and 2/3-of-the-screen-vertically captioned her reply "Probably Chinese, because there are a lot of Chinese people" [lady waves at street]
― fistula-la-la (sic), Tuesday, 9 October 2012 08:20 (thirteen years ago)
so
ah, so.
― Una Stubbs' Tears (Trayce), Tuesday, 9 October 2012 08:32 (thirteen years ago)
(haha sorry)
gillard was great, if you ignore her cutting welfare payments for single mothers today and blocking marriage equality the other week
― Autumn Almanac, Tuesday, 9 October 2012 09:53 (thirteen years ago)
iow fuck her
Sadly, we're at the juncture where we're forced to back the person who would cut welfare payments for single mothers against the person who would steal babies away from single mothers then make them work in a Dickensian workhouse built from the bones of gay people (probably).

been a fucking long time since someone on the federal front bench has made a speech with as much passion as that
really hope she starts destroying the joint in all areas from this point forth
― monotony, Tuesday, 9 October 2012 13:23 (thirteen years ago)

gillard is being condemned by courier-mail commenters for giving an unladylike speech.

"Toy undeterred by heart complaint" - thought this would be a story about some dildo that gave a bloke a heart attack, but was disappointed to find it is some fotball player.

Yes that one was delightful.
Also can someone tell me how the fuck a "pensioner" is going thru $700 a quarter in elextricity let alone twice that? Does she live in a 6 bedroom mansion in Peppermint Grove or something?
― Una Stubbs' Tears (Trayce), Thursday, 11 October 2012 05:15 (thirteen years ago)
FYI 'Scandalands' is the worst book title in history.
― Don't Go Home With Your Hadron Collider (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 11 October 2012 08:28 (thirteen years ago)
btw I hope they discover all that controversial electricity that pensioner has been charged for has been used to power a gnarly hydroponics setup
― Don't Go Home With Your Hadron Collider (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 11 October 2012 08:30 (thirteen years ago)
Electricity services are odd. Despite usage being unchanged, our bills says CO2 emissions have doubled. Did they find a seam of extra-dirty coal or something?

― the Juan Atkins diet (haitch), Friday, 12 October 2012 03:07 (thirteen years ago)
some creepoid came round to allegedly install ours and tried to enter the house without asking (thankfully the screen door was locked). apparently they needed access to the mains (the website and other documents contradict this) and when told to ring me to organise a time when i was there they declined and disappeared in a hurry. scamola!
― ian curtis e. bear (electricsound), Friday, 12 October 2012 03:12 (thirteen years ago)
Oh shit!
― Una Stubbs' Tears (Trayce), Friday, 12 October 2012 03:29 (thirteen years ago)
And yeah no they dont need to get into the house to put a smartmeter on, they did mine when I was at CHusan st with a locked up house, so Im sure they just replaced the main box on the front outside wall.
Maybe that was a robber :(

― Una Stubbs' Tears (Trayce), Friday, 12 October 2012 03:38 (thirteen years ago)
lol i just googled "smart meter scammers" and came up with a jillion websites that say STOP SMART METERS and SMART METERS ARE A GOVT SCAM .. wow, the tinfoil contrail parade are out in force on this one! I had no idea.
― Una Stubbs' Tears (Trayce), Friday, 12 October 2012 03:41 (thirteen years ago)
Ha. Smart meter installators came to my folks' house, insisted that a smart meter be installed, then refused to do it because the point where the 'leccy comes into the house isn't in an OH&S suitable spot to connect to. They're now in an interesting position of making all the demands and holding none of the cards.
― Mates of 808 State (S-), Friday, 12 October 2012 04:39 (thirteen years ago)
