It’s time you all started working together to sort yourselves out. Attacking the Greens is the latest in a long run of idiotic ALP moves. I know it must be galling to have to work each day with people who haven’t sold themselves out on every issue, but it’s ludicrous to be picking a fight over preferences—an issue which only concerns the votes of the sort of politically disengaged and/or terminally confused people who can’t number more than one box—when the huge and obvious danger is the Coalition.

How much do you pay your PR people? Here’s a free idea for an ad. Thirty seconds of video, edited together from news reports, of Tony Abbott laughing. He is a loathsome, aggressive, lying, bullying bigot—and he’s more popular than any of you.
Grow some backbone. Stop acting like a pale imitation of the Liberal Party—those voters who want to elect racists, corporate shills and anti-science fundamentalists are going to vote for the Coalition anyway, so stop chasing their ballots. The sort of people who look at Sophie Mirabella, Barnaby Joyce, Bronwyn Bishop or Greg Hunt and think ‘What a good idea!’ are a dead loss to you and to the rest of the thinking public. Forget about them.

Some suggestions to start with: Stop shitting on refugees. Stop backing down on issues like poker machine restrictions. Stop being piss-weak on the cruel and abhorrent export of live animals. Stop mining and fuel exploration in environmentally sensitive areas. And for the love of all that is good and pure in this world, stop Craig Emerson from singing and dancing.
