Booker van Permalink (Hunt3r), Thursday, 18 December 2008 13:44 (seventeen years ago)

yeah i just got it! the ride is pretty fucking amazing. FENDERS!! what a country.

cutty, Thursday, 18 December 2008 13:57 (seventeen years ago)

do you have to smoke a pipe and wear tweeds to ride that?

Ed, Thursday, 18 December 2008 14:02 (seventeen years ago)

that's the one way, right? raleigh has had some very classy offerings lately.

Super Cub, Thursday, 18 December 2008 17:25 (seventeen years ago)

how is the stock gearing?

(*゚ー゚)θ L(。・_・) °~ヾ(・ε・ *) (Steve Shasta), Thursday, 18 December 2008 17:48 (seventeen years ago)

42x16 surprisingly not as forgiving on the bridge uphills as i expected it to be. great on the flats. really comfortable ride.

cutty, Thursday, 18 December 2008 20:23 (seventeen years ago)

I wouldn't think you'd want to go much lower than 42x16 - unless you're really into spinning.

Super Cub, Friday, 19 December 2008 17:22 (seventeen years ago)

i am.

cutty, Friday, 19 December 2008 18:16 (seventeen years ago)

42x16 is my commuting ratio of choice. Good for a quick getaway from the lights but still fast enough on the flats.

sister s (ledge), Friday, 19 December 2008 18:21 (seventeen years ago)

it's a flip fllp right? are you riding free or fixed?

(*゚ー゚)θ L(。・_・) °~ヾ(・ε・ *) (Steve Shasta), Friday, 19 December 2008 18:26 (seventeen years ago)

walter (wilter), Sunday, 28 December 2008 22:14 (seventeen years ago)

My gf gave me over bootees and a merino wool base layer in preparation for pittsburgh. Very happy about this.

Ed, Sunday, 28 December 2008 22:24 (seventeen years ago)

nice.

just bought a 41 tooth chainring for the bianchi that (having read this thread) may be too small.

the stand is great, it's left no marks on the ceiling at all.

walter (wilter), Sunday, 28 December 2008 22:47 (seventeen years ago)

i have the topeak stand, love it.

awesome raleigh, collardio

cutty, Monday, 29 December 2008 01:30 (seventeen years ago)

cutty, Monday, 29 December 2008 01:30 (seventeen years ago)

walter (wilter), Monday, 29 December 2008 03:19 (seventeen years ago)

i like to fart and i am crazy (gbx), Monday, 29 December 2008 03:22 (seventeen years ago)

me?

cutty, Monday, 29 December 2008 14:50 (seventeen years ago)

getting booties big enough for mtb shoes is my issue. the neoprene size 13s dont really fit over my 11.5 mtb shoes. i cut out the back zipper and just pull them over as far as they'll go. works fine as long as i dont need to walk.

pearl izumi makes some nice mtb-specific shoe covers.

#NAME? (ytth), Saturday, 3 January 2009 04:04 (seventeen years ago)

if thats real 80s style benotto disco tape on the pista, its proper.

also, i think those lake shoes are contraband what with kanga leather.

wilter, Tuesday, 10 February 2009 01:08 (seventeen years ago)

one month passes...

How much of a numpty will I look like if I get this bag:

http://www.ortliebusa.com/cartgenie/images/large/officebag2.jpg

Reasons for considering, it goes on top of the rack so it works with my shopping baskets

alternative is this which is not so waterproof and I'm not sure if it's mounting hardware will work with the rack.

Prince of Persia (Ed), Monday, 16 March 2009 17:13 (seventeen years ago)

wait, so it actually mounts on your rear rack? why not?

i like to fart and i am crazy (gbx), Monday, 16 March 2009 17:14 (seventeen years ago)

It has nifty recessed mounting hardware:

http://www.ortlieb.de/_pdf_en/officebag2.pdf

I'm trying rationalise the expense. I don't think my current laptop carrying solution is very good, laptop bag stuffed into the shopping basket. Over the shoulder is completely out as my back is fucked, I am having physio at the moment. It is $209 and I'm not sure if REI will let me use my 20% coupon for it.

Prince of Persia (Ed), Monday, 16 March 2009 17:21 (seventeen years ago)

this looks good too but I'm not sure it is large enough

Prince of Persia (Ed), Monday, 16 March 2009 17:32 (seventeen years ago)

i found an ortlieb hard shell on craigslist like new and very cheap, but didn't get as it didnt look to have a shoulder strap. also, sorta small.

if you handcuff to your wrist youll send the right vibe with it
