cutty is right, you should get some clipless if only for those times you want to go on a long ride that is not just A-->B (i wear bike shoes all the time, but they're still inferior to real shoes for non-biking comfort, which is why i've got comfy slip-ons at school)

or just do what a lot of ppl do and ride yr street shoes on yr clipless when yr just getting around. it's really not much of a pain when you get down to it

also most clips/straps just get mangled over time, and are generally a pain

i'll look into it at some point. not really looking forward to learning how clip in and out without falling

ya it was pointing up at the store and hurting my weenis and taint so i had them adjust it but they went a notch to far i think

I have two pairs of bike shoes, one that look like trainers and have a deep recess and can be walked around in. The others are pretty rigid and hard to walk in. (I wear through a set of cleats in the walking shoes in about 2 months).

I keep meaning to go to the machine shop to build a clip in platform for my pedals.

are u joking or ? a co-worker recently got ticketed by baltimore's finest for riding (a freestyle bmx) at night w/out a headlamp. had no idea about that law. aren't rear lights more important??

what joke? get knog lights for the front and back. white and red LED.

i would never ride at night without flashers. but reflectors are in the realm of kickstands. utilitarian but avoid like the plague.

I prefer solid beam to flashers, but would rather have both.

I don't know, as far as I've seen reflectors are much better for actually being visible than knogs. Reflectors show like crazy if you hit them with headlights, and knogs are just so pathetically weak.

(should go without saying that this is all on top of a set of "real" lights, like a Planet Bike Superflash or something)

tho my saddle is finally broken in/positioned properly and it's kinda amazing how nice it is in street clothes (except jeans, which will always suck for biking)

kinda surprised some hipster bike company hasn't added stretchy jeans w/smooth lycra crotches to the list of technical knickers and 'urban' bikewear

prob cuz they'd look like you were wearing horrible denim/lycra chaps, but still
