they definitely are very present here in the NE. the bikereg/cannondale sponsored team is perhaps the best elite team in the region as well.

luol deng (am0n), Tuesday, 10 November 2009 05:43 (sixteen years ago)

that's the same frame as cutty's bike i think? just with a different parts spec.

BARRY ROUBAIX (haitch), Tuesday, 10 November 2009 11:39 (sixteen years ago)

yeah but i have 2009. i wholeheartedly recommend the caad9. what group does the 9-6 come with?

cutty, Tuesday, 10 November 2009 15:31 (sixteen years ago)

luol deng (am0n), Tuesday, 10 November 2009 15:44 (sixteen years ago)

wait are you going to get 2009 or 2010?

cutty, Tuesday, 10 November 2009 16:18 (sixteen years ago)

i don't know? bike store lady mentioned she would get me the 10-speed (caad 9 6 triple i think?) cuz they're phasing out the 9-speeds??

luol deng (am0n), Tuesday, 10 November 2009 16:37 (sixteen years ago)

i don't think you need a triple, grandma

cutty, Tuesday, 10 November 2009 18:11 (sixteen years ago)

get a compact crankset instead

cutty, Tuesday, 10 November 2009 18:11 (sixteen years ago)

Even a lummox like me doesn't need a triple hauling groceries on a much heavier bike. (admittedly I have quite a wide rear range)

found out its an '09 and on sale

luol deng (am0n), Friday, 13 November 2009 23:53 (sixteen years ago)

shamal! therz like no spokes on that thing . . .
sheldon brown does not think thatz an upgrade:
"The Great Spoke Scam: In the early '80s a clever marketeer hit upon the idea of using only 32 spokes in wheels for production bikes. Because of the association of 32 spoke wheels with exotic high performance bikes, the manufacturers were able to cut corners and save money while presenting it as an "upgrade!" The resulting wheels were noticeably weaker than comparable 36 spoke wheels, but held up well enough for most customers."

slowcoreenactsfrustrationdoubtandevenfearofneverbeingfulfilled (jdchurchill), Saturday, 14 November 2009 00:46 (sixteen years ago)

yeah, but in the early 80s they also had fucking super soft sub 300g rims that needed 36 spokes. those 550g shamal rims are like xxxx stronger than mavic gels.

i'm always irrationally irritated when i see someone riding a TT bike, but it's true that they are the sexiest machines.

American Fear of Pranksterism (Ed), Thursday, 19 November 2009 02:01 (sixteen years ago)

i wish i had a pic for you guys - but i saw a dude wheeling a serotta with fairly deep section wheels (although not as deep as those edge wheels above) through trader joe's the other day. all black paint job with just the tips of the seatstays and chainstays the naked ti color. it was goddamn gorgeous.

I Endorse He-Horse (ytth), Thursday, 19 November 2009 03:30 (sixteen years ago)

wait through like in the store?? sounds like evil guide bike

itdn put butt in the display name (gbx), Thursday, 19 November 2009 04:25 (sixteen years ago)

yeah, justine thought it was bad form, but i said that you don't keep a $10,000 bike locked up anywhere in oakland, so he gets a pass. she agreed once she knew she was looking at a very special machine.

I Endorse He-Horse (ytth), Thursday, 19 November 2009 06:17 (sixteen years ago)

why they don't put pedals?
