thx. started using synergykm the other day to share keyboard and mouse between pc and mac but i'd rather just get rid of the pc altogether

It's not like there's a huge diff. Parallels I've found to have a few performance issues, which is my biggest complaint against it.

I've also had Parallels crash about 20x more often than VMWare.

There's also Darwine, which is free open source, ugly and clunky, but will work for a lot of things that aren't games.
