2015 Mustang officially unveiled. I may be hallucinating, but I'm seeing some Aston Martin in there - similar to how the Fusion looks. The silver one in the Autoblog gallery looks pretty good.

i think less aston martin that bringing the mustang design into line with the prevailing ford design flavor, like a more muscular fusion, kind of like the plans to slick back future camaro grilles into something similar to the malibu front end.

i was the proud owner of a 2013 mustang gt, DEEP IMPACT BLUE, and i still love that body style, the boxiness and meanness of it and i'm not feeling the smoothed out lines on the 2015.

These bastards almost got it right. All this shit needs denser grills and more subtle edges. Same problem with the new Camero. This shit looks like cartoons, put a groucho mask on it, i guess. Aston martin, Ford wishes..

I'm holding off final judgement until I see one in person. The lower-front looks excessively fussy.
The side view, especially in the back two-thirds, was giving me the AM hallucinations (thinking Vantage V8).
Eons better than the Camaro, which completely unpleasant to drive.

Yeah, the side is really nice, I guess it is the lower front specifically that's not nice.

I'm fine with the way it looks, but can't help thinking that (like the Camaro) I'll hardly be able to see out of those short windows, and the rear seat will be uninhabitable. The semi-practicality of Mustangs have always been a point in favor compared to GM's offerings, and I would have kept the roof higher. Performance-wise, it should be excellent. I like the front LED running lights that ape the appearance of the folds in the headlamp surrounds in late-'60s (and recent) Mustangs.

In the end, what I don't like about the new Mustang is the glossy black panel in between the tail lights. I guess it's a callback to the '70 Mach 1, but unless it's an all black car it just sticks out.

I'm a total car ignoramus. I'm trading in my Corolla for a new lease on a Camry. $1k down, $255/month. Is this a good deal? Plz help. The guy I normally rely on for car advice is inside for a few months on a battery charge.

I'm looking to buy a new one next year but yesterday the CO2 of the model I'm thinking about went up from 134g/100km to 175 apparently (WLTP) which would also mean a lot more taxes etc. :-/

(um, that's per km not 100)
― StanM, Sunday, 2 September 2018 09:15 (six years ago) link
When CO₂/km emission is measured that way, is it summing up emissions from the total manufacturing process or just what's coming out of the tailpipe? Just curious - haven't really seen those metrics used in the US.
