I live in Anchorage, drive a Ram 1500 bought in 2013. My wife has the same 2014 Camry bought new, had a tire change at 60,000 miles, now 110,000 miles and is about to change a second tire.
According to the tire manufacturer's recommendations, it should only be used within 5-6 years, but my car is 8 years old, the tires are new and good, the wear is negligible. If we go as little as this, it will be about 10 years.
So in your opinion, when is the right time to change the tires on my car?

gimme your vision statement for next year's tire wear
give me the freedom to change a tire. give me the chance to be a man, standing on the inside shoulder of a curving 6-lane highway with semis exhausting soot and commerce all over my face as I press down and over on the tirejack and pop a few lugs off like it's nothing at all

all in all though i'd say now is about the right to check your tires. no harm in checking.
You're kinda on your own once you get past eight years, especially with wide temperature variations (like you might find in AK) between at-rest cold and at-speed warm. Otherwise I just use the penny trick for checking tread depth and be done with it.

I've never used the penny wear test before, I just observed it with my eyes. Thanks @ Elvis Telecom and everyone. I found out this article about the penny used to check the tread depth, https://tireer.com/penny-tire-test/ it is really helpful for me right now.

Always check your tyres before you drive. There should be about four.
