What's new/changed in ILX code

stet, Saturday, 25 November 2017 23:31 (two years ago) link

(v3.15 b23)
You can now press the "b" key while on a thread to bookmark its latest post. (This will work even if you can't *see* the post, so is a good way to reset the bookmark if the latest post has been deleted)

stet, Saturday, 25 November 2017 23:33 (two years ago) link

can we have the uppers music play when viewing this thread?

sarahell, Saturday, 25 November 2017 23:35 (two years ago) link

two weeks pass...

(v3.16 b13)
More keyboard shortcuts -- if you have unread bookmarks, keys 1-9 will open them. Pressing "p" in a thread will highlight the post field. So you can ILX mouse-free, sort-of.

(I'm serious that's brilliant. Although a link to SNA is the first icon on my Bookmarks Toolbar in Firefox anyway.)

Learning abt this a couple of weeks ago has completely changed my ~ilx experience~, all for the better.

i couldn't figure out the answer to this question; i believe she bookmarked something that was already bookmarked

anyway, i've been getting a "your connection is not private" warning a lot lately on chrome on many ilx pages, such as search. then i just reload and it goes away. is this bad?

assawoman bay (harbl), Sunday, 28 January 2018 15:12 (one year ago) link

I saw the same thing a few minutes ago -- maybe the https certificate expired?

Brad C., Sunday, 28 January 2018 15:13 (one year ago) link

yes i just got the "connection not private" warning also

mark s, Sunday, 28 January 2018 15:20 (one year ago) link

It's like there are two certificates? One that expires today and one that's valid until March 30th

StanM, Sunday, 28 January 2018 15:23 (one year ago) link

i am getting it on https://www.ilxor.com/ILX/SiteNewAnswersControllerServlet

(= my usual landing page)

mark s, Sunday, 28 January 2018 15:30 (one year ago) link

I just saw that.

k3vin k., Sunday, 28 January 2018 16:55 (one year ago) link

i,CloudiOS (darraghmac), Sunday, 28 January 2018 17:01 (one year ago) link

The automatic renewal script seems to have missed a step — I think I've fixed it now. Let me know if people are still seeing it pls

stet, Sunday, 28 January 2018 17:09 (one year ago) link

thx, not getting it anymore here.

3.17: API changes to support Zing

stet, Wednesday, 9 May 2018 00:38 (one year ago) link

thx also 3.17. Those who are persevering (in misfortune and steadfast in fulfilling God's commandments, and in refraining from sins), and truthful (in their words and actions, and true to their covenants), and devoutly obedient, and who spend (out of what God has provided for them, in His way and for the needy), and who implore God's forgiveness before daybreak.

stet what's this bookmark flag link shit and why is it all smooshed together in lagoon.css

don't mock my smock or i'll clean your clock (silby), Monday, 1 July 2019 22:18 (five months ago) link

I’m trying to tidy up the mobile view because it’s messy and those links are too wordy. I fixed the CSS on the most popular sheets, I’ll do lagoon now too.

stet, Monday, 1 July 2019 22:23 (five months ago) link

ooh can i post that to the actual zing thread

requesting fix for newold.css

ciderpress, Monday, 1 July 2019 22:57 (five months ago) link

Did the font change too? (old.css)

Screamin' Jay Gould (The Yellow Kid), Monday, 1 July 2019 23:23 (five months ago) link

Yes, it might have done on some browsers -- some mobile browsers were using bad fonts when no font at all was set, so I set one.

Have updated lagoon, newold and the swiss variants so the bookmark links have spacing again.

Also in 3.22: Admins can press "a" while in a thread to get the admin links.

stet, Monday, 1 July 2019 23:49 (five months ago) link

(And there's a new standard-dark stylesheet, still a WIP)

stet, Monday, 1 July 2019 23:49 (five months ago) link

please keep the no spaces on kenandark.css i love it

3.23: A fix that lets stylesheet updates override local copies, and a new light stylesheet.

stet, Monday, 8 July 2019 22:51 (five months ago) link

(sorry for the downtime overnight: scheduled maintenance at the hosts)

stet, Tuesday, 9 July 2019 07:58 (five months ago) link

sorry for the downtime overnight

FP'd you for racism (am I doing that right?)

Vernon Locke, Tuesday, 9 July 2019 09:58 (five months ago) link

3.25 Now with MVP (eg a very early but it-kinda-works) ability to choose a font. Choose from a very short list (more to come) at the bottom of the style preference page. Unlike stylesheets, this isn't set per device but applies to all devices.

(Known issue: Be sure to also choose a stylesheet every time you change this option or it won't stick)

stet, Wednesday, 10 July 2019 00:11 (five months ago) link

Nice! Very much appreciated!

3.26 - More fonts available for choosing, and some anti-spam tweaks to registration.

stet, Sunday, 20 October 2019 00:50 (one month ago) link

Did this break the font fix (aka in old.css the font just changed again)

Screamin' Jay Gould (The Yellow Kid), Sunday, 20 October 2019 04:04 (one month ago) link

Hm shouldn’t have done - try setting your font in the style sheet prefs again and see if it sticks.

stet, Sunday, 20 October 2019 09:58 (one month ago) link

I just went to prefs and reset mine as old.css and it still has the embiggened font.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Sunday, 20 October 2019 22:38 (one month ago) link
