ILX is tolerant of a ton of stuff but not really a phenomenal place for encouraging diversity of thought. It is, in other words, an Internet message board.

tombot is otm re all internet message boards but it's especially true of ilx. here i've copped excessive shit for all sorts of reasons, from using a word i didn't know was racist in america (i do now), to my two-decade-long nickname for my wife being called "the worst joke on ilx", to being trolled well out of proportion for ~2 years because i used a software feature. options were to walk away or htfu. seems i've settled on a position bang in the middle, contributing to a small number of threads and accepting that the occasional irredeemable fuckwit can be found everywhere. posting this as an xxxxxxxxxxxxpost because it was on topic 39 minutes ago.

I have tolerated undue abuse and will continue to post regularly and without interruption until I have outlived you all
