is banning posters for beefing with mods really what we want to do?

It makes sense that the least moderate group of ilx posters all agree that immoderate language should never be grounds for banning and that when the moderators try to make ilx a more moderate place they are overstepping their authority. It's almost as if they do not embrace the concept of moderation.

Admins have always had the right to ban people on top of the FP system though - if some new guy turns up and drops a load of N-bombs we can tell from the 10 FPs they get in like 10mins, we're not going to wait around for them to get to 51.

This is different obviously and long-time posters usually get the benefit of the doubt. Personally I probably wouldn't have banned Deej in these circumstances but I'm going to Stet's right to withdraw access as he sees fit.

Seems like a reasonable option atm. Just looking at your last ~20 posts, a cooling off period seems in order.
