hey now

Cory Sklar, Wednesday, 8 July 2015 16:44 (ten years ago)

Hey Cory. I'd read the ILX Heaven thread before, which is why I thanked you for kinda defending me -- or my integrity, to be more precise. Anyway, the day before my last surviving parent's funeral is no time for this kind of socialization so I'll go now.

deethelurker, Thursday, 9 July 2015 03:20 (ten years ago)

be well, dee

Upright Mammal (mh), Thursday, 9 July 2015 13:57 (ten years ago)

strength and peace, dee. Listen to lots of Rio and Seven/Ragged Tiger.

demonic mnevice (Jon Lewis), Thursday, 9 July 2015 14:53 (ten years ago)

Thank you, mh and Jon Lewis. I never thought I'd be in my thirties and lose both my parents, but Jon Hamm lost both his parents by 20 so I'm trying to keep that in the forefront of my mind and how much more fortunate I was to have at least one parent in my life for a good decade and a half longer at least. I'm Facebook friends with almost everyone from the TITTWIS community, but just in case any of them don't know already, please inform them, thanks. Uh, except for "Luna". That bitch can just fuck off to nowhere.

Wow that's a great story! I love catfishing stories, it's always amazing to me the power one person can wield over another without ever meeting.

Of course, you're the #1 example of how it can all end up going well!

I, on the other hand...you'd think I had some intelligence...well, back in 2014 I was straight up catfished for 7 months, and when you're in the grips of it it can be so hard to realise.

Laertiades (imago), Tuesday, 1 March 2016 20:27 (ten years ago)

i think any "shame" that arises from a catfishing should lie solely with the catfisher themselves

pantsuit aficionado (stevie), Tuesday, 1 March 2016 20:34 (ten years ago)

Xp well my situation was a lot different bc we skyped and I even skyped with his family and he spoke with my friends... And he met my parents in person before me so. He was also very googleable too.

I just find not-"irl" relationship dynamics fascinating.

Weird about "Miranda" recently passing away. I only came across that story whilst reading this review: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/01/books/review-dana-spiottas-innocents-and-others-explores-the-dynamics-between-life-and-art.html

I mean, I read the "wow" as someone assuming that the person in the link was Luna is all.

Oddly, the woman in the link does look vaguely like the FAKE luna pics.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Monday, 9 May 2016 23:41 (ten years ago)

Frankly I'm not that wowed by this shit anymore because all the stories out there show there's an astonishing amount of people ready to be easily fooled, which is sad :(

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Monday, 9 May 2016 23:42 (ten years ago)

sorry for confusion. the "wow" was a general wow. no matter how many stories like this i read i'm still floored by the scale and duration of these deceptions.

Larry Elleison (rogermexico.), Tuesday, 10 May 2016 00:26 (ten years ago)

An entire interview in which the words "Damon" and "Naomi" are left unsaid. Amazing quote: "The trio forces everyone to work, there is something cool about it, especially live; all of you have to make noise constantly. But I think most of the great bands (especially in the live scenario) are four or five people."

I'm glad Dean finally acknowledges Woody Allen as a major influence. This is actually a perfect pairing of interviewer and interviewee, to an extent that we rarely see these days, and one of the best interviews that I've read in recent memory.

of all threads, it should be this one being the most forgiving about other posters mistakenly thinking a thread's about something it isn't.
