can I just say that I'm always confused by the idea that these threads are any more clusterfucky or crossfire-filled than ordinary threads of people talking about the Sopranos or whatever? just cause a lot of people have opinions about something doesn't mean any kind of trainwreck is taking place; if you go back and read this kind of thread a year later, most everyone just seems generally amused and reasonable
