I didn't think it was that obvious, and was a beyond stupid "joke." board lawyering is unlikely to accomplish anything here besides waste people's time. I don't think the mod in question needs to justify the decision further at all.

i think things like this should be taken in the context of the poster's history here, as happened with calzino. also, i hate to bring this up, but one of the things people on the left are _really_ concerned about is apparent bias. people might get the idea that a centrist saying the same thing that boring did would be met with a more lenient response. since this isn't a hypothesis anybody particularly want to see tested, it's a hard belief to argue against, and we're all particularly sensitive to it in light of facebook equating antifa with qanon.

Uh ... as opposed to the board lawyering done on calzino's behalf that actually did accomplish something? ... I understand the instinct to ban and the immediate action, but letting this stand just ... I'm sorry, but I think ILX is smarter and more thoughtful than that. ... At least I want to.
