tbqf the vilest shit imo (and i distinctly remember this) was on the day of the london attacks, everyone was kinda shellshocked and discussing what had occurred and she just kept bumping, bumping the flirting thread to the top and trying to get people to talk to her

I still feel like a bit of an asshole cz I spent 11 Sept 2001 refreshing ILX at work and there was some thread about a plane crash which had a lot of new answers but I thought "eh, well, bummer, but maybe I'll look at that when I'm at home"

i pretty much knew she was a fake when she didn't show up but tbh the internet is full of people who claim things about their looks and flake out on meeting people and the harm in that isn't nil but nothing to get worked up over. obv wish she'd been outed before she could get her hooks in certain people.

if she was lying about being married on "excite" boards or whatever, I assume she was having online relationships w/dudes prior to ILX, but my hunch is that she didn't necessarily come here with that as main goal. But prob big part of why she stayed. I think the internet as a whole was an escape, a venue to have a fantasy life/self, for her but also just a way to pass the time (at work mainly). ILX served both needs.
