i think she should just get her own board where she starts the topics and deletes replies that do not answer the original question or replies that are triggering, and should see how many people want to be on the board and how many posts are left

Did some ILXors get banned for saying offboard that Lou1s Kagen had a subreddit or something?

xxxp yeah, not as great as EP (couldn't really be given its humbler ambitions) but the four long songs and 'nonsense' are kickass. that said the best 2 songs are probably still the 2 that were released as a single. that plank! band you mentioned sounded pretty cool too - anything else you reckon i'll dig, well, you know the batsignalj

btw the new thumpermonkey album is absolutely incredible and if you like rock, prog, metal, intricate melodies, math rock, mayhem etc then here's 50 minutes' worth you won't regret: http://soundcloud.com/thumpermonkey/sets/sleep-furiously/

maybe i'll even start a thread on them next week, they're that good

anyway there's no other avant-idiocy to task yall up on so have a good one and play nicer

aw dayo n mookie you dont hafta *sniff*

okok you want more well i'm reading gravity's rainbow for realsies and to be frank no other literature matters right now. it's a stage we all go thru eh...less than 1/2way and it feels like 4 novels already!

i'm not a mansplaining expert but i always thought it was a more specific, patronizing attitude kind of thing where some dude basically commits the appeal to authority fallacy, but it appears that he's drawing his so-called "authority" from the fact that he's a man. i've definitely seen men do this to women many times before, so i actually kind of like the term because when people use it correctly it describes complex in a succinct way. i didn't think, though, that mansplaining referred to situations where someone is a man and talks

no i mean it honestly delights me that people that have seen my posts under this dn for 4+ years straight STILL can't help but use that phrase in posts all the time not in a purposeful joking way. it's become a social experiment for me. w/ the feigned outrage being all part of the fun.

some dude, Friday, 19 October 2012 04:13 (thirteen years ago)

this may shock you - but sometimes i refer to a generic "some dude" in real life!

down w/ obana...he is the reson were in dept (Z S), Friday, 19 October 2012 04:16 (thirteen years ago)

Fwiw I wanted to post about this in the push button thread but by that time the thread had moved on but: the whole idea that 'self-nullification has nothing to do w suicide" xoncept has been getting a lot of los and cockeyed stares butiirc when WCC had started protesting about suicide, she had been p much the sole person who'd said she would push the button and virtually everyone else in that thread wad emphatically posting "hell no I would not take the get-out-of-life-free option" so I'm not convinced that a bunch of people who took great pains to distance themselves from a mindset that wd imagine such a button, and press it, are necessarily qualified to decide what a mindset like that is 'about'. I think there are a lot of reasons to start a thread like that, and if WCC was trying to proactively ward off any number of reductive speculations about the orig question being some sort of sublimated death wish or what have you, then I probably wouldn't blame her.

Of course, I def don't agree with how she's handled it since nor do I necc understand what she means about the suicide talk being some kind of triggering agent

woah who's being slandered now

this killed me so hard! I too 'some dude' frequently IRL, sorry.. some dude. ZS otm though and whoever it was upthread who said 'If I was a woman I'd be pissed' or whatever. I've seen a few other ladies chime in and say the same thing. Save the 'mansplaining' for when a man is actually using his gender as a way of proving he's right. A woman is not mansplained everytime a man talks to her. I said this on one of the threads that got locked the other day, I think the one where the burrito stalls crap blew up and buried my post :(

And how obvious is it that sometimes people bring shit to Twitter or wherever simply so they can trash others without having their posts flagged/interfering with their ILX status? I talk shit about VG all the time on twitter so that I can avoid her vengeful Flag Post finger. xp - burnt by her vengeful co-sign fingers! ;D
