I was skeptical this was really her husband, too, but I'm 99% sure it was (and if it was her, then I would go ahead and give her the master con artist tag. the use of different vocobulary, phrasing, grammar, tone, typos when she rarely made any, etc). I'm not going to have any contact with her now (other than to give her a piece of my mind, if she contacts me), so if I were one of the last shoulders to lean on doesn't make sense for her to do what you're saying.
