For those that don't read 77:
hey guys, there's been a brief mod quorum. this is whiney's fourth/fifth (we couldn't figure out which) banning and nobody else has done this before. there's a general sense that this cycle could keep on going forever and several mods are not comfortable with whiney continuing 30 days on/ 30 days off indefinitely. the decision's been made collectively to make up new rules to address the issue. So from here on in and starting with whiney's current ban, repeat SBs starting with the third trip down the SB road garner a 60 day ban rather than 30. This is meant to provide an alternative to a permaban when we have a poster that dances on the "just being a troll"/"scared he's gonna hunt me down irl" fence. As with all these ILX LAWS (except for "don't be a dick") it's open to mod interpretation; if somebody's banned for their third time after four years, they're less likely to catch 60. If somebody is consistently getting banned month in and month out, it's most likely gonna be 60.

i've spoken with whiney on all this and though he's certainly not in full agreement, he gets it. he gave me an "I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF I'M AGONNA RETURN" but y'all know he's coming back. this is his trash-strewn nest and he is surrounded by like minded types who kinda dig his schtick, myself included.
He did personally request that everyone cause as much drama about this announcement as possible.
i am offering myself up as a sacrificial lamb to take your heckling, lampooning, invective and reasonable and unreasonable questions.

I get the feeling, maybe wrongly, that Whiney has 40-45 permahaters who just SB him on sight and he only has to mention blood sausage in capital letters to rack up to 51. I really honestly don't see behaviour obnoxious or hateful enough that it warrants repeated banning.

i agree seem to rc behaviour pre-first couple bans was p extreme but i find it hard to believe so many ppl are so roused by his recent output

also could i get an sb count been trying to be more of an asshole on ilx lately

xp a lot of it does go down on ilm. and yeah, he gets a lot of people who sb him clearly just for sport or to register displeasure but he also racks up ten or twelve for each lil' trolling spree he goes on. that's what's getting him banned.

whiney's annoying but like....I think he gets enough "stfus" in the thread. at this point all banning does makes him come back even goofier.

i also still find him entertaining tho. don't think i've SBed him

given that i've been in and around sb related boards i'm sure i've picked up a few , can a mod post my current score pls

whiney is hella entertaining but sometimes he's just plain rude and if you do that to somebody having a bad day you're likely to get whineyed

i love whiney, only time(s) i've SB'd him are when he attacks me personally. which is disheartening, cause like, i know i can be annoying, but for him to talk ATP and psych bands with me one sec, and then clown me for making a lame poll the next moment (which by the way, i dont think i've made a lame poll in quite some time!) is kinda just ridiculous. love the guy regardless but he does get a bit troll-y.
