alright i have better fucking things to do today but since people cant just chill out

i am going to get rid of this board - but before i do i want to make a couple things clear.

this was not just one persons idea, there were several supporters, both recently and before. i myself couldnt give 2 flying fucks about whther it exists or not, but didnt see any problem in trying it out. im pretty much getting rid of it because A) some of you have had decent reasonable responses of why you dont like the idea and i think theyre fairly compelling B) the ensuing shit storm has contributed to a lot of incredibly out of line personal flaming and abuse which isnt worth extenuating C) i dont have time to watch this clusterfuck roll on out of control and supervise all the bullshit that should have been deleted already obviously.

i think the way some of you have acted regarding this (def not the majority) is pretty shameful and childish tbh, and it reminds me why i spend as little time on ilm as i do, and prob is a good reason for me to stay off it entirely. you are on a messageboard full of people, you dont automatically get to have everything your way, you also dont get to keep other people from having things the way they might prefer, and i dont give a shit where you percieve yer status/longevity/whatever. again thanks to the peeps that made specific efforts to disagree with the board but kept things civil.

ill crosspost this to the imp thread as well, and if people want to continue the discussion thats fine. i am not going to nuke the board immediately because i have to figure out what to do with the threads - if any threadstarters object to having them moved to ILM, let me know. or if you prefer to have them locked and kept here or deleted or whatever.
