mccown is playing above average right now even tho the jets ground game is lethargic. tyrod taylor and shady are both exciting to watch. it's not like the worst matchup esp considering some of the quality of qb on other teams atm in the nfl.

Mordy, Friday, 3 November 2017 03:25 (one year ago) Permalink

mccown threw for a lot of yards in the NE game but he was really heaving it up there, resulting in a couple of amazing plays but he could've had another 4 picks on top of the two he did give up. he was more in control in this game and did look pretty good. he's playing at the level of that one good half season he had in chicago

Eagles fans were doing Wentz, Wentz, Wentzadelphia a couple of weeks ago as a chant referencing the Flipadelphia episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Got to give it to the NFL owners, they will do whatever cornball stuff they need to do to prove they love the cops and military. They will even dress their coaches up in fatigues and then sell it on the NFL store.

This being the first weekend I was captive enough to watch a bunch of football, I got to say the college games yesterday were seemingly better played than watching either the Falcons/Cowboys. Pretty snoozy.

Crazy stat: The Rams have scored 40-plus points three times this season. They scored 40-plus points two times from 2007 to 2016.

Nobody looks good in a suit of all turquoise blue.

earlnash, Monday, 6 November 2017 03:04 (one year ago) Permalink

Cutler is actually playing pretty well. Got to wish the Bears would have done more of this dink and dunk stuff with Forte when Martz and others kept wanting to go for the deep ball when they did not have an o-line to sustain any time in the pocket.

Mark Davis looks like an amalgam of the two characters in Dumb and Dumber. Dude has the worst haircut of any dude with big money this side of the orange one.

earlnash, Monday, 6 November 2017 03:27 (one year ago) Permalink

i have a theory that davis looking like such a freak is a business power play, saying to the ppl he deals with that they all have to adhere to particular standards of personal presentation to succeed and meanwhile he's on another level entirely. it's evidently deliberate and i can't think of a better explanation.

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 6 November 2017 03:38 (one year ago) Permalink

The guy doesn't have the bravura to pull off the track suit lifestyle like his pops.

Miami's D looks pretty decent. Don't think either of these clubs are all that great, but they are evenly matched it looks like to me.

earlnash, Monday, 6 November 2017 03:44 (one year ago) Permalink

Got to love any play an offensive guard ends up trying to run the ball. There is a reason my HS football coach would say to us, just fall on the damn ball, don't try to pick it up and run.

earlnash, Monday, 6 November 2017 03:45 (one year ago) Permalink

You really have to have some personal magnetism to pull off the track suit lifestyle. Wish I had it, I'd go for the gold if I could, but deep down, I just know I don't have that kind of skills.

earlnash, Monday, 6 November 2017 03:46 (one year ago) Permalink

it takes a special guy

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 6 November 2017 03:48 (one year ago) Permalink

All a wideout has to do is just get in the way, often times you don't even have to touch them to be effective blocking down the field. I've seen a ton of holding or crack back block penalties on receivers watching a bunch of football.

Atlanta's TE was a total goofball on a couple plays today for that very thing.

earlnash, Monday, 6 November 2017 03:49 (one year ago) Permalink

this game is a little deceptive, have to remember that it is about the league worst offense vs the worst defense which is somehow giving an illusion of competence to the jay cutler fins

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 6 November 2017 03:50 (one year ago) Permalink

This is a better game than the KC/Dallas or ATL/Carolina games I watched earlier today.

earlnash, Monday, 6 November 2017 03:56 (one year ago) Permalink

Oaktowns receivers are some cold stone hand players. Last two balls should have been easily caught.

Mordy, Tuesday, 7 November 2017 16:59 (one year ago) Permalink

god, what a pathetic game

started with an 8-minute drive that resulted in a blocked field goal, then Lions look to go 3-and-out except the Pack pick up a completely unnecessary flag giving them an automatic 1st on a 3rd-and-14. Lions score a TD and wind up not punting the entire game. starting to think our problems are more than just Rodgers being out.

frogbs, Tuesday, 7 November 2017 17:40 (one year ago) Permalink

yeah it was p dire. not sure whether it is more preexisting giant cracks that rodgers papers over or that the players have quit since he went down but the whole team was a mess. probably a mixture of both.

i tell u what tho, am now more convinced than ever that the biggest crack arodg papers over is one michael john mccarthy

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 7 November 2017 17:49 (one year ago) Permalink

definitely caught myself saying "I wish Gruden was coaching this team" a few times last night

Hundley has now played 11 quarters, thrown four picks and no touchdowns, and yet I still have no clue if he's any good

frogbs, Tuesday, 7 November 2017 18:56 (one year ago) Permalink

he is not
