What was going on with Tua in the 2nd half there
― frogbs, Sunday, 25 December 2022 21:08 (three years ago)
neanderthal jinxed him with really don't wanna hear any shit about Tua after this half
― mookieproof, Sunday, 25 December 2022 21:13 (three years ago)
Yup

The Rams and an excellent Baker Mayfield are traumatizing the Broncos right now

#Broncos backup Brett Rypien exchanged some words with the starting offensive line, defending Russell Wilson after he took another sack, per @tracywolfson. Dalton Risner pushed Rypien out of the way. That is one broken-ass team. Wild to look at the definitely not-good Bears team and feel pretty good compared to that, or even the Texans for fighting hard every week with their awful team.
― omar little, Monday, 26 December 2022 00:06 (three years ago)
Yeah I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team as fucked as the Broncos are right now. They’re the Lakers of the NFL
― frogbs, Monday, 26 December 2022 00:47 (three years ago)
losing to a Rams team without its best offensive players, letting them put up 51 points…I mean I think the Kurt Warner era Rams only scored 50+ one time.
― omar little, Monday, 26 December 2022 00:57 (three years ago)
hey congrats to Brady on another OT win still kinda sad to see it have to come to that against Trace McSorley and the 4-10 Cardinals
― frogbs, Monday, 26 December 2022 05:00 (three years ago)
Broncos players totally phoned it in today. It was some serious IDGAF by the defense today. I’d say a total house cleaning coming to that team.
― The Artist formerly known as Earlnash, Monday, 26 December 2022 10:05 (three years ago)
It is so Detroit Lions that they get the path to the playoffs and they lay an egg against the Panthers.
Obvious Carolina is playing hard but the Lions got to be the Lions.
I’m sure JJ Watt probably likes the Arizona weather better but I bet he really wishes he would have taken that deal to go to Buffalo instead of going to the Cards.

Hackett fired by Broncos
― omar little, Monday, 26 December 2022 18:00 (three years ago)
loll didn't even make it one full season
― symsymsym, Monday, 26 December 2022 18:04 (three years ago)
Only a week after the NFL sent that "hey teams, don't be so hasty in firing coaches and wasting money" memo.
― Mr. Snrub, Monday, 26 December 2022 18:57 (three years ago)
This may be the lowest point for the Broncos since before the 1977 season.
― immodesty blaise (jimbeaux), Monday, 26 December 2022 19:05 (three years ago)
How does one league keep failing the same guy
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa is in concussion protocol, per Mike McDaniel -- he's unsure when it occurred but Teddy Bridgewater will get most of the reps Wednesday if Tua doesn't clear protocol— Marcel Louis-Jacques (@Marcel_LJ) December 26, 2022
― Fash Gordon (Neanderthal), Monday, 26 December 2022 22:37 (three years ago)
On a play that likely happened in the first half that no spotter saw.
Not only is this season going to end in crushing fashion, because of course it always does, but we're putting a 23 year old's health in jeopardy, which is a much worse thing
― Fash Gordon (Neanderthal), Monday, 26 December 2022 22:38 (three years ago)
lol remember the Broncos getting nationally televised games like 5 weeks in a row
― frogbs, Tuesday, 27 December 2022 03:45 (three years ago)
how tf did Nick Foles win a Super Bowl
― frogbs, Tuesday, 27 December 2022 04:14 (three years ago)
This Tua stuff is criminal
― Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 27 December 2022 14:38 (three years ago)
this one is more baffling because, unlike the Bills game, nobody seemed to notice the offending play, not the broadcasters, fans, the spotters, the team doctor, the independent neurologist, or any symptoms after said play. and yet....for the latter three roles, that's literally their job.
and it isn't that they saw a replay of his head hitting turf later on and are being precautious now, article says he has actual concussion symptoms.
unless the doctors are just being really conservative here, they need to just shut him down for the year.
― Fash Gordon (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 27 December 2022 14:45 (three years ago)
I mean if they didn't after getting knocked out two games in a row I don't expect them to now. they'll probably let Tua rest this week but if the playoffs are on the line he'll be out there. good news for the Fins is they actually have one of the better backups in the league with Bridgewater and both their remaining games are vs. broken teams as well
― frogbs, Tuesday, 27 December 2022 14:53 (three years ago)
will nathaniel hackett eventually get another NFL head coaching job y/n
i mean, josh mcdaniels managed it
― mookieproof, Tuesday, 27 December 2022 17:45 (three years ago)
no, he’ll be lucky to become a coordinator anywhere
― sault bae (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 27 December 2022 18:20 (three years ago)

when you want rodgers so bad that you hire his loser friend, and then you miss on rodgers, and so end up hiring russ.
― normal AI yankovic (Hunt3r), Wednesday, 28 December 2022 03:03 (three years ago)
i agree (and he probably needs to go save a college team now) but it's tough to underrate the staying power of a large white coaching son
― mookieproof, Wednesday, 28 December 2022 03:15 (three years ago)
He's gonna be Cam Cameron
― Fash Gordon (Neanderthal), Wednesday, 28 December 2022 03:29 (three years ago)
Hackett will have a job somewhere. No doubt that some college coach would love him to be o-coordinator, if he wanted to get into that racket. They love to be able to say recruits - this guy worked with Aaron Rodgers.
Matt Rhule literally went from a laughing stock in the NFL to getting paid fat money @ Nebraska as they are so desperate for it to matter again. What a bunch of maroons. Dude was so bad, he left they traded their best players and then they almost might make the playoffs AND his backup QB has embarrassed two teams getting hired off the street.
― earlnash, Wednesday, 28 December 2022 22:41 (three years ago)
He’ll get some of that sweet coordinator money, probably take next season off and then come back
― omar little, Wednesday, 28 December 2022 22:48 (three years ago)
rhule was a demonstrably good college coach who succeeded in very tough situations at both temple and baylor
not uncommon for a great college coach to fail spectacularly in the nfl (cough urban cough)
― sault bae (voodoo chili), Wednesday, 28 December 2022 23:19 (three years ago)
Denver fans begging team to cut or trade Wilson today lol.
Here's why that isn't going to realistically happen until 2025.
I knew the contract was bad but even I didn't realize they'd be setting a individual dead cap record in most scenarios

amazing how national football league players in the national football league are the hardest of warriors, the real troops, but are so unmanned by 'distraction(s)' that the raiders have to physically send derek carr away from the team
― mookieproof, Friday, 30 December 2022 17:36 (three years ago)
Just leave, baby
― Fash Gordon (Neanderthal), Friday, 30 December 2022 17:44 (three years ago)
feel like I say this every year but there seems to be a much higher than usual percentage of teams that are just total dumpster fires this season. Broncos and Raiders both made big moves during the offseason to win now and have wound up a combined 10-20 with both fanbases calling for the QB's head. Texans and Colts are both god awful and seem to have no plan to get better in the near future. the Packers look the worst they have since Rodgers took over and Brady's Bucs have one of the worst offenses in the league (though it's possible both make the playoffs). the Rams have fallen apart in a way no Super Bowl winner ever has in NFL history. the Cardinals and Falcons both look completely lost. the Bears have a young QB who looks like a phenom but they've still lost 8 straight games.
it's not just the losing teams either. only 11 of the NFL's 32 teams have a positive point differential. 2 of those 11 have a positive differential of less than a touchdown (including the 12-3 Minnesota Vikings). just weird shit all around
― frogbs, Friday, 30 December 2022 17:49 (three years ago)
Years like this are always possible due to the restrictive hard cap and the high likelihood of QB injuries, I just think some years the league gets lucky and some it doesn't.
It is fairly ridiculous that my Fins could lose for the fifth straight game on Sunday and still clinch the 7th seed by beating the Jets the next week
― Fash Gordon (Neanderthal), Friday, 30 December 2022 17:56 (three years ago)
Jags are a pleasant surprise.
― immodesty blaise (jimbeaux), Friday, 30 December 2022 17:57 (three years ago)
I also think the degradation of defensive units don't help. Teams accepted that they no longer need dominant defenses to win Super Bowls, so they've allowed holes in some areas of the unit so that they can strengthen their offense.
Even the best units don't completely obliterate teams like the 2000 Ravens or the 2002 Bucs, due to all of the offense-happy rule enforcement shifts.
Mediocre defenses, you often can't trust to close out close games late.
The point differential thing w the Vikings and others is truly bizarre, really illustrates the volatility of some teams' performance.
― Fash Gordon (Neanderthal), Friday, 30 December 2022 18:07 (three years ago)
One thing I will say is the Vikings have certainly had luck but have also made an incredible number of incredibly clutch plays in crucial moments and are also riding Justin Jefferson who is putting on a historic run right now so it's not like they just slipped and fell and ended up 12-3
― Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 30 December 2022 18:15 (three years ago)
Also in interviews they just think they can win now no matter what, that sort of irrational self belief is important in sports
― Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 30 December 2022 18:16 (three years ago)
whereas my team makes the least sense, a largely unchanged defensive unit that added Bradley Chubb is now terrible, Xavien Howard is also bad and somehow inexplicably made the Pro Bowl, which even he himself questioned, we have a QB that's only been sacked 21 times this year, but has suffered a head injury on 3 of those sacks (14% of them!), and we've had both a three game AND a four game losing streak this year and are still possibly going to make the playoffs.
plus two receivers over 1,000 yards, and yet the offense has been stalled for a month.
― Fash Gordon (Neanderthal), Friday, 30 December 2022 18:34 (three years ago)
I guess the Fish Fade is back! :)
― Fash Gordon (Neanderthal), Friday, 30 December 2022 18:35 (three years ago)
Jaguars run is one of those you often see when a bunch of young talent is finally starting to click, and your young QB is starting to play at the level you expected when you drafted him. they might be scary next year

well yeah, they're arguably one of the most clutch teams in NFL history. there are obviously a lot of decent arguments against using Pythag record as a true indicator of a team's skill and I think they pretty much all apply to the Vikings. on the other hand they do look pretty terrible for long stretches and I can see a team like the 49ers or Eagles whipping the tar outta them in the playoffs. you know like the Colts did
― frogbs, Friday, 30 December 2022 18:52 (three years ago)
i'm not worried about the vikings getting smoked by the eagles or niners -- no shame in that
i'm worried about them falling out of a bye position and then getting to host green bay two weeks from now. no matter how bad the packers are or how washed rodgers is, that's nightmare material
― mookieproof, Friday, 30 December 2022 19:10 (three years ago)
people assume Rodgers would show up in a big game like that but the truth is he really doesn't
