NFL is a sad, destructive world - but gd it can be so weirdly entertaining. Last weekend was one of the most batsh1t crazy weekends of football I can remember. There was like a season of weird stuff in games in like a week.

One thing I do think, I kinda think the Giants should stick with Daniel Jones for a bit longer. He's not great or anything, but he really does not suck either. I kinda think he reminds me quite a bit of Alex Smith and if you compare their numbers, they are actually closer than you might think. I'd keep him on a cheap deal and then try to improve the offense around him.

reminds me of the early 2000s where it was one or two great teams and a bunch of inconsistent ones.

I kind of want to see a defensive renaissance in the NFL, not that I want to see offenses struggle like they did in the dire early 2000s, where you ran 40-50 times a game and gashed bad run defenses while your QB was a 'game manager', but I wouldn't mind seeing more true shutdown defenses emerge again, even as hard as it is in this era. "bend but don't break" has been the law of the land for about ten years.

ultimately though, my controversial opinion is that letting the Packers start the first drive from our 9 and second from their 45 might be a bad special teams strategy.

it's clear Miami needs to blitz Rodgers but carefully. no 'sending the house', and all of them have risks. CB blitz = if you don't disguise it well, Rodgers will just make a quick throw and get the first, LB blitz = if you don't get there, he'll take off and have space to run in.
