I saw in an article about the call that only two 64 yard FGs have been made in the history of the NFL

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 14 September 2022 14:50 (three years ago)

sheesh, can't believe I forgot about Justin Tucker's 66-yard game winner last year already. suppose I just filed that away in the "things that could only happen to Detroit" drawer in my head. Tucker is a god among kickers though.

the other one was Prater's 64 yarder, but that was in Denver. I wonder if he could've hit that elsewhere.

frogbs, Wednesday, 14 September 2022 15:12 (three years ago)

mcmanus is 0-7 in field goals longer than 62 years in his career

comedy khadafi (voodoo chili), Wednesday, 14 September 2022 15:23 (three years ago)

Xpost the difference between a 55 yard field goal attempt and a 64 yard attempt is huge!

lol yeah seriously. I mean the Browns kicker hit a 58 yarder on Sunday, but he wouldn't have made it from 64.

Bell Bivalent Devax (Neanderthal), Wednesday, 14 September 2022 15:25 (three years ago)

i always feel like the decision is one of those 'instant gratification' things that sometimes flummoxes new coaches, like. "hmm - i could try for first down here, but we'd need to run a few more plays before we could kick to win, and who knows, maybe we fumble. or shit, I could just kick RIGHT NOW, no waiting needed! yeah, it's gonna be hard, but if we make it we win, and oh will the fans love me"

*almost feel

Not even the Chiefs and Chargers, two of the highest scoring offenses in the league, are immune to Thursday Night Football Syndrome. I should just put $100 on the under for every Thursday night game from now until the end of the season.

Mr. Snrub, Friday, 16 September 2022 01:39 (three years ago)

amazing Mike Williams touchdown catch

symsymsym, Friday, 16 September 2022 02:02 (three years ago)

did you, assuming you are neither chargers nor chieves fans, watch this?

if so, was the august presence of al michaels part of the reason you tuned in?

just curious

mookieproof, Friday, 16 September 2022 04:51 (three years ago)

I'm literally crying rn

Tua.

U did it

i eat ass with a knife and fork (Neanderthal), Sunday, 18 September 2022 20:26 (three years ago)

Fuckin’ Browns. Chubb just kneel at the one, dude.

j-e-t-s come away with their first september win since todd bowles was coach

comedy khadafi (voodoo chili), Monday, 19 September 2022 00:19 (three years ago)

I was watching my DVR recording of NFL Matchup this morning, I was thinking that Miami and B-more game would be the one to watch (and of course we did not have it as a local game).

I guess they can shut up for a week or so about Tua's arm strength not being good enough.

Kliff Kingsbury kinda reminds me a bit of Thomas Middleditch.

earlnash, Monday, 19 September 2022 00:20 (three years ago)

The Steelers and Pats game looked like a game from the 80s. I kinda dug it. I slept through about half of it.

Minkah Fitzpatrick is an amazing player. He played out of his mind against Cincy too.

earlnash, Monday, 19 September 2022 00:22 (three years ago)

Really don't understand why he didn't work out in Miami. We expected big things, coach didn't really use him right, but he always showed he was capable of being a big game corner

Glad he's doing it somewhere

i eat ass with a knife and fork (Neanderthal), Monday, 19 September 2022 00:31 (three years ago)

browns were so close to being 2-0 for the first time since . . . *1993*

mookieproof, Monday, 19 September 2022 00:38 (three years ago)

on the broadcast they did the "last time the Browns started 2-0" montage and I think most fans knew at that moment what was gonna happen next

Fuckin’ Browns. Chubb just kneel at the one, dude.

― Mr. Snrub, Sunday, September 18, 2022 3:41 PM (yesterday) bookmarkflaglink

sure but maybe a bit unreasonable to expect him to think to do this given they were already up 7, with less than 2 minutes on the clock and no timeouts for the Jets. that's an impossible situation to come back from! like on par with fumbling a kneeldown and having it ran back for a touchdown! granted the odds do go up when you just decide not to cover the deep WR at all, when Flacco hit Corey Davis there was literally nobody else on screen with him when the camera panned over. I don't really believe in firing a guy for fucking up one play but I'd make an exception in this case.

frogbs, Monday, 19 September 2022 15:07 (three years ago)

the guy who blew the coverage was pro bowler denzel ward (well, probably the safety who was supposed to provide deep cover)

comedy khadafi (voodoo chili), Monday, 19 September 2022 15:10 (three years ago)

absolutley amazing Browns meltdown

brownie, Monday, 19 September 2022 15:20 (three years ago)

elf looking good at midfield tho

brownie, Monday, 19 September 2022 15:20 (three years ago)

why only have one safety there though, literally the only way they can win is to throw deep

frogbs, Monday, 19 September 2022 16:17 (three years ago)

I'm finding it amusing that actual Dolphins fans are still doubling down on Tua sucking after that.

"well he has two of the best receivers in the NFL" my favorite one. I seem to recall a HOF Dolphins QB having two of the best receivers in the league to throw to, can't recall his name.

i eat ass with a knife and fork (Neanderthal), Monday, 19 September 2022 16:19 (three years ago)

also the Bengals look positively dire right now, their offense just isn't there.

i eat ass with a knife and fork (Neanderthal), Monday, 19 September 2022 16:30 (three years ago)

yeah I dont get where that comes from, maybe he's not immediately lighting the league on fire like Burrow or Lamar but in a more traditional sense he's kinda exactly where you want a 3rd year QB to be. it does suck though that after watching the Patriots dynasty absolutely dominate that division for two decades it now looks like the Bills will be a juggernaut for the foreseeable future

frogbs, Monday, 19 September 2022 16:33 (three years ago)

I mean I understood the concerns at least before he threw 6 TDs yesterday.

i eat ass with a knife and fork (Neanderthal), Monday, 19 September 2022 16:35 (three years ago)

i still dont' think Miami's ready to unseat Buffalo though. Buffalo is the byproduct of years of building and if they don't win it all this year, i'm not sure what it will take. they seem built for it.

i eat ass with a knife and fork (Neanderthal), Monday, 19 September 2022 16:36 (three years ago)

the oddsmakers seem to agree with you on that, they're at +450 vs. the Bucs and Chiefs at +700. pretty big drop off after that.

frogbs, Monday, 19 September 2022 17:03 (three years ago)

Oh my god Jalen

frogbs, Tuesday, 20 September 2022 01:39 (three years ago)

Cousins proving why he's crap once again

i eat ass with a knife and fork (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 20 September 2022 02:18 (three years ago)

yeah that Jalen TD was something. but after seeing that weightlifting video he showed, not surprised he could carry that many defenders on his back.

great, both games aren't close, boring.

i eat ass with a knife and fork (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 20 September 2022 02:18 (three years ago)

feel like most people don't realize that Cousins is extremely average when not facing Green Bay

frogbs, Tuesday, 20 September 2022 02:34 (three years ago)

I always considered him a journeyman who overachieved

i eat ass with a knife and fork (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 20 September 2022 02:49 (three years ago)

So many QBs I'd rather have as a coach

i eat ass with a knife and fork (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 20 September 2022 02:49 (three years ago)

how is this the same guy from last week

frogbs, Tuesday, 20 September 2022 02:59 (three years ago)

there are like 10 'average NFL quarterbacks' in the entire world and i will absolutely give cousins that. it's a remarkable accomplishment! but no one is expecting him to step up to the next level

mookieproof, Tuesday, 20 September 2022 03:04 (three years ago)

also!

in before horseshoe posts 'bills imo'

mookieproof, Tuesday, 20 September 2022 03:07 (three years ago)

Bills first two games were against the Super Bowl champion and the AFC 1 Seed and they utterly demolished them both

frogbs, Tuesday, 20 September 2022 03:22 (three years ago)

yeah I don't look forward to us trying to tame them next week, but maybe the stank humidity will help us

i eat ass with a knife and fork (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 20 September 2022 03:28 (three years ago)

c'mon, no one respects the titans

mookieproof, Tuesday, 20 September 2022 03:37 (three years ago)

but we do remember them

i eat ass with a knife and fork (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 20 September 2022 03:43 (three years ago)

i respected the oilers. or at least bum phillips coaching the oilers and earl campbell absolutely running amok

fuck the titans and the 'texans' (tbf i guess 'commanders' has set the bar almost impossibly low)

earlnash back me up here before i pass out

mookieproof, Tuesday, 20 September 2022 03:48 (three years ago)

I enjoyed the 80s Oilers, even though they royally beat the shit out of us the first time I remember watching them play my Fins as a 9 year old (39-7, with only a Marc Logan kick return for a TD as our offense). Moon was truly a master of the sport. in both CFL and the NFL.

if Instant Replay had existed, Bills may not have completed their epic comeback, as Beebe's touchdown to make it 35-17 shouldn't have counted (he stepped out before catching it). just imagine that, Oilers mighta taken it all!

i eat ass with a knife and fork (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 20 September 2022 03:58 (three years ago)

Texans just bland, from the name, to their boring logo/uniform colors, to their style of play, like whenever you're at a sports bar and the Texans are on, you ask the bartender to change the channel. except for JJ Watt, he was cool. (and of course their fans booed when he was drafted)

have to say that the ball came out of warren moon's hand in a fashion i've not seen before or since. it was beautiful and seemingly effortless

(almost ashamed to admit that i feel like i've seen a glimpse of this in tyrod taylor? nevertheless)

randall cunningham had the arm -- i mean he could throw the ball out of the endzone if he felt like it. but warren moon could drop it in where he wanted iirc

mookieproof, Tuesday, 20 September 2022 04:55 (three years ago)

Houston Oilers were a pretty entertaining team at times.

When I was a kid they were really good and one of my first football heroes was Earl Campbell. There are a bunch of crazy plays of them literally tearing the jersey off him. He once knocked out a safety for the Broncos by running over him.

They 'should' have perhaps won an AFC title and went to the Superbowl one year with Bum Philips as there was a total crap call that is probably one of the first big 'replay shows this was a huge bad call' on a TD catch in the endzone.

They were in the same division with the Bengals as a kid, so I saw them play a bunch.

They were a wacky as hell team when Jerry Glanville coached them both doing crazy shit like blitzing everyone every single play and then having June Jones really by modern football 'run and shoot' offense which was pretty much screw the run game and run the spread a couple decades before the college game made it a thing.

Warren Moon is a serious NFL hero. Dude got racist treatment by the NFL went to Canada and was so f'ing good there winning with Winnipeg they HAD to give him a shot and then he played into his 40s and was totally awesome (outside some off field issues of course).

They also had a killer song. ZZ Top should cut it.
