No cos JETS

hopefully this review helped someone (Neanderthal), Sunday, 19 December 2021 22:00 (four years ago)

well yeah that's part of what made it so cool. you expect the Pats to execute something like that well, for the Jets that has fumble returned for a score written all over it.

frogbs, Sunday, 19 December 2021 22:02 (four years ago)

very dangerous play for sure, gotta love it tho

the woke mob canceled urban meyer

“Just society has changed. You think how hard you pushed. … I believe there is greatness in everybody and it’s the coach’s job to find that greatness however you do that. Positive encouragement. Pushing them to be greater, making them work harder, identifying flaws and trying to fix [them]. I think everything is so fragile right now. And that includes coaching staffs. When I got into coaching, coaches weren’t making this kind of money and they didn’t have agents. Everything is so fragile where it used to be team, team, team. I remember talking about it in a staff meeting three days ago. I got into this profession because I had the greatest high school coach and it was all about team. All about the huddle.”

Tyler Huntley playing really well vs. a pretty good GB defense. Pretty cool how the Ravens can run a lot of the same plays with him

frogbs, Sunday, 19 December 2021 23:22 (four years ago)

still baffled by this Lions team. they have 2 wins, 1 tie, and 1 game they probably should have won if not for a literal record-breaking field goal at the last second. all 4 of those were against teams with winning records! they just blew out a team that was the #1 seed in the NFC last week! would I be mistaken in thinking they could actually be somewhat decent next year if...they weren't so fucking cursed?

frogbs, Monday, 20 December 2021 03:00 (four years ago)

lions (2-11-1) have a better point differential than atlanta (6-8)

texans/jags/jets are truly awful but the texans *and* jets beat the titans, and the jags beat the bills *and* dolphins

parity is a hell of a thing. are there actually any truly good teams?

mookieproof, Monday, 20 December 2021 04:17 (four years ago)

i mean i might have said bucs but getting shut out at home by the taysoms is nagl

mookieproof, Monday, 20 December 2021 04:21 (four years ago)

I think the Packers are pretty good. they got their asses kicked Week 1, lost the Jordan Love game, and then lost an overtime game in Minnesota thanks to some truly bizarre officiating. Rodgers is playing arguably as good as he ever has. I would think after this week they'd be the favorites to win the Super Bowl.

speaking of Tampa laid a big ol' goose egg at home tonight against the Saints (who don't even have Sean Payton!). first time Brady has been shut out in like...14 years. usually when a QB this good starts playing awful you figure it's because the receivers are fucking up but idk who he was even trying to throw it to half the time. Saints definitely whipped out the ol' "come on, their QB is 44 years old" defense

frogbs, Monday, 20 December 2021 04:28 (four years ago)

oh. as you just mentioned.

anyway I think Brady might've lost the MVP to Rodgers this week but he'll be fine. Brady has a game like this every 2-3 years. gotta recalibrate the system, etc.

frogbs, Monday, 20 December 2021 04:30 (four years ago)

I think the Packers are pretty good

this hubris will never go unpunished by the national football league gods

relax Mookie I know they're losing to fucking Tom Brady again in the NFCCG

lag∞n, Monday, 20 December 2021 14:18 (four years ago)

if the cowboys were coached by someone other than mccarthy, we’d be talking them up as super bowl contenders. thankfully, he’s making them worse than they should be!

gun to my head, i’d prob pick the chiefs for the ‘ship tbh

grove street (party) direction (voodoo chili), Monday, 20 December 2021 14:37 (four years ago)

every year there seems to be a 12-13 win team that nobody thinks has a real shot and this year the Cowboys seem destined to be that team

I could kinda see talking myself into them but I suspect they're actually running pretty hot - their defense is not very good but they do generate a lot of turnovers. as we've seen with McCarthy's Packers teams you can't really count on that in the playoffs. also not to get all Bill Simmonsy here but both McCarthy & the Cowboys have a history of having things go horribly wrong during nationally televised games

frogbs, Monday, 20 December 2021 15:44 (four years ago)

this is such a terrible national game, the Vikings are playing terribly and yet are still dominating the Bears who are down 47 starters and fuck up every single pivotal moment

frogbs, Tuesday, 21 December 2021 03:37 (four years ago)

Yikes at that blow to Fields's head

hopefully this review helped someone (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 21 December 2021 03:46 (four years ago)

Saints do seem to have some knowledge that works on the Brady Bucs in ways no one else does.

I sure as crap hope the Packers peak early and flail in the playoffs again, I really don't want that a-hole Rodgers to win at anything including checkers for the rest of his life.

Hard telling who is going to win it all. I'd suppose at this point you would figure Packers/Chiefs in the Superbowl, but I got to think it is a bit wide open at this point.

AFC North standings are a hoot, as all four teams are .500 or better.

Indy's win was pretty impressive as they just ran the ball down NE's throat.

Everyone wrote off Tennessee weeks ago when Henry went out and they keep saying he might be coming back. They are hanging around too.

Tampa's D-line is not going anywhere. I got to figure this weeks game was a fluke.

Dallas is not going to win, that team has a legacy of playing too stupid.

Same for the Chargers coach, that dude thinks he is way too smart. They do got a lot of talent.

Rams are too flaky too, but they got talent.

I think the Cardinals had a beneficial schedule that made them look a bit better than they really were. Kinda curious to see what happens when they play the Colts. I kinda got a feeling Indy is going to beat the crap out of them.

Rivera is a good coach as even with some key injuries, he has the Hatcats I think playing really above their talent. Rivera should have ended up the coach of the Bears, c'mon he was not on the Superbowl team, but he was there back in the DAY - but old lady Halas is going to pinch every nickel to the grave.

earlnash, Tuesday, 21 December 2021 03:51 (four years ago)

call that a TD you cowards

frogbs, Tuesday, 21 December 2021 03:53 (four years ago)

and yes I like the Hatcats too, hard to cheer for them but it would be really fun if they got good next year

frogbs, Tuesday, 21 December 2021 03:54 (four years ago)

btw the fact that everyone hates Rodgers now means the Packers are probably gonna win the title. don't yell at me that's just how the NFL works

frogbs, Tuesday, 21 December 2021 03:57 (four years ago)

Now? Lol I got over a decade of hating Rodgers.

plz feel free to work your magic hex on him. i won't mind.

more difficult than I look (Aimless), Tuesday, 21 December 2021 04:57 (four years ago)

imagining going back in time 10 years and telling myself that Rodgers won't go to another Super Bowl and in fact winds up becoming one of the biggest NFL villains due to his belief in pseudoscience, while both the Brewers and the Bucks will have extremely likeable MVPs, one of whom delivers a title through one of the greatest Finals performances in professional sports history. gotta love sports

frogbs, Tuesday, 21 December 2021 05:04 (four years ago)

god, Baker really is holding this team back

god, Baker really is holding this team back

He really seems like a below average QB to me. There are a few backups I’d rather have. Lol he just threw away the game with INT #4 as I was typing that.

lost an overtime game in Minnesota thanks to some truly bizarre officiating

Yes definitely the only reason you lost 🙄

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Sunday, 26 December 2021 14:51 (four years ago)

well yeah no loss is ~only~ due to reffing but when they start going galaxy brain on the game's biggest inflection points and miss a very blatant push off on the winning score in overtime I think you got an argument

obviously they totally botched the end of the Browns game in our favor, so whatever, it happens

in other news this is not a particularly inspiring first half from the WFT

frogbs, Monday, 27 December 2021 03:23 (four years ago)

apparently if Miami wins tomorrow, we are now in the 7th playoff seed.

the odds are still only 25% cos holding onto it will be tough with Tennessee and NE in back to back weeks (the latter is at home).

but just insane considering the 1-7 start. we do also have the weakest strength of schedule and strength of victory which helped, but we also lost games to bottom feeders during that 7 game losing streak.

elsewhere in the league, my thoughts are...

there are only three teams I think anybody is fucking afraid of, and I think that's Green Bay, Tampa Bay ,and now the Chiefs have re-entered that discussion.

there are other "very good" teams but they tend to have red flags. begrudging, I feel like TB is in a good position to repeat, but I feel like the AFC's result is going to be random af because the Chiefs don't feel like they're gonna be a neo-Patriots and restart dynasty discussions.

my wish, let's have a Green Bay-Titans Super Bowl and give the Titans a win. a) because they're one of the few franchises that don't have one and b) I want to give shit to all my fellow Fins fans who shit on Tannehill when he wins a ring.

chances of this match up happening, 1,347,383,383,284,283: 1

hopefully this review helped someone (Neanderthal), Monday, 27 December 2021 03:56 (four years ago)

Tampa is really beat up at this point. Losing Godwin for the season is kind of a big deal as he was kinda the Wes Welker/Troy Brown glue guy that Brady used a ton in their offense. They also lost a starting DB for the season and their D-line is knicked up.

earlnash, Monday, 27 December 2021 14:00 (four years ago)

Green Bay plays teams pretty close they are not totally dominating, so they could get beat and you never know who might get hurt the last couple games of the year, but they look to be a big step head of the rest of the NFC.

I think the AFC is a bit more open. KC seems to have it's mojo back, but I could see someone oddball upsetting their way into the Superbowl.

earlnash, Monday, 27 December 2021 14:03 (four years ago)

Yeah GB is doing that thing again where they dominate all game and force the announcers to spend half their time talking about how great Rodgers is but then once the 4th rolls around they go 3-and-out a few times in a row and suddenly this team they should’ve put away long ago is one play away from winning it. They tend to win those games anyway but that shit bites them hard in the playoffs. Also Mason Crosby really feels like a potential Chekhov’s gun here, if they need him for a game winning FG I will probably have a heart attack
