Ok I apologize in advance for telling a fantasy football story but

I came into MNF up by 3.5 points, opponent only has Rams kicker to play. bad situation but hey, I've got a chance

Rams offense totally sputters out, scoring all of one touchdown. Late in the 4th they get to a 1st and goal situation, screw it all up as they've been doing all game, then kick a fucking field goal down 24 with four minutes to play

something that made me less enthused about fantasy football is that for the second year in a row, I autodrafted, and haven't set a lineup and don't even know who is on my team, and I'm playoff bound currently.

(it's a non-money Yahoo league and life just got the best of me, and nobody has seemed to notice due to all of my wins)

I remember one year where our league was kinda wacky & I paid almost no attention, I autodrafted and wound up sneaking into the playoffs with a 6-7 record, playing sitting out players on multiple occasions. THREE of those six wins I got despite having the second-lowest point total for the week. I wound up making it to the finals. The guys I beat were pretty upset.

At least the Raiders just embarrassed themselves on the field this week.

I do love seeing the words 'soviet-style character assassination' associated with the NFL.

None of these teams this year are all that good really. I think the Bucs are just bored at this point and waiting for the playoffs.

Oh I think if Gruden can, he will try to burn it down...dude is toast, he will never be able to get another job in coaching or football media at any level again one would figure.

But hey, somehow someway Bobby Petrino has a job STILL...so I guess one could dream Chucky.

crazy that after 28-3 everyone thought it was the end of the Pats dynasty and that the Falcons would be perennial Super Bowl contenders. they won one playoff game the following year and haven't had a winning record since, finishing 4-12 in 2020. meanwhile the Patriots made the next two Super Bowls, winning one, then Brady jumped ship and won another one with the Bucs, and now here we are as the the Pats with their new QB are about to win 5 straight, dropping the Falcons to 4-6 and pushing Matt Ryan one step closer to retirement
