can't believe this game is actually delivering

now its raining again...

ahhhhh
― lag∞n, Monday, 4 October 2021 03:37 (two years ago) link
lol so close
― frogbs, Monday, 4 October 2021 03:37 (two years ago) link
tight game
was probably the right call too
― frogbs, Monday, 4 October 2021 03:39 (two years ago) link
rain makes it dicey, thought they were gonna go for it tbh
― lag∞n, Monday, 4 October 2021 03:39 (two years ago) link
going for it with a rookie QB in the rain probably also dicey, you got like a 40% shot of losing the game right there and who knows how many more yards you're gonna get
― frogbs, Monday, 4 October 2021 03:42 (two years ago) link
mac was dealing! youre gonna get like at least 6 more yards if you get it probably more
― lag∞n, Monday, 4 October 2021 03:44 (two years ago) link
it was just a very long field goal for such poor conditions, if it hadnt started raining again sure kick it
oh actually I forgot there was still a minute on the clock and TB had two timeouts, the 35-40% shot of a Brady comeback definitely makes going for it correct
― frogbs, Monday, 4 October 2021 03:45 (two years ago) link
yeah that too
― lag∞n, Monday, 4 October 2021 03:46 (two years ago) link
It was a special night

steelers started last year 11-0 because they played the NFC East; they are not and never were in fact a good team
Unless there's been some heavy duty conference realignment I didn't hear about i don't think this is true. AFC North is at the very least a solid to good division

My Vikings are on a dark path

I think they're referring to how each year, everybody in your division plays all of the teams in another division in the opposite conference. everybody in the AFC North played all of the teams in the NFC East.
But that's not really a good argument - only 3 of those first 11 wins came against the NFC East (Washington was their first loss), and they had to beat multiple playoff teams to start 11-0, including the Titans, Browns, and Ravens (who they beat twice).
I do think 11-0 was a mirage but mostly because they were beneficiaries of good fortune, not that they weren't good. they probably shoulda been 9-2.
― Gardyloominati (Neanderthal), Monday, 4 October 2021 13:35 (two years ago) link
Ahhh I didn't get the context
― Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 4 October 2021 14:46 (two years ago) link
its crazy that Cousins will look like a Top 5 QB and then have a game where he can't beat the dude overthrowing all his receivers by 10 yards
still they probably should be 3-1 and are clearly at least the 2nd best team the division so I wouldn't panic yet
― frogbs, Monday, 4 October 2021 15:05 (two years ago) link
i've given up on having expectations for Miami. when they're supposed to be good, they find creative ways to soil their pants. then once you give up, suddenly they go on a crazy run and make the playoffs (or come close).
yesterday they were the dominant team in the Colts game (despite only being up 3-0) and one mental error (an offsides nullifying a stop on 4th down) lead to a snowball effect where the Colts ran roughshod over us the rest of the game.

I have to say, Urban Meyer's spectacular flame-out is giving me as much joy as anything this year, I hate that rotten fucker

This is funny. Watch the "First Take" panel react to finding out that Urban Meyer will be teaching a class at Ohio State on character. pic.twitter.com/BHlre3eExR— Cork Gaines (@CorkGaines) January 2, 2019

Vikings do seem to be stung with the ability to grasp defeat out of the jaws of victory in some pretty interesting ways. They rarely flat out stink, but they seem to be just terrible in close games and lose them in odd ways.
Urban Meyer will have a nervous breakdown before they get any good in JVille. That dude is just wired up a bit too tight.
― earlnash, Wednesday, 6 October 2021 18:31 (two years ago) link
Roffelsburger is cooked. Dude is about as mobile as Bernie Kosar and his arm while not as bad as Manning or Brees were at the end is just not the same. That said, I think the real problem is their O-line pretty much stinks now.

lmao can't say I've ever seen a punter do that before
― frogbs, Friday, 8 October 2021 02:29 (two years ago) link
i would do anything for puntsbut I won't do that
― Gardyloominati (Neanderthal), Friday, 8 October 2021 02:31 (two years ago) link
this is one of the oddest football games I've ever witnessed. just nonstop weird shit
― frogbs, Friday, 8 October 2021 02:34 (two years ago) link
sick
Michael Dickson has his punt blocked, so he casually picks it up and punts it 68 yards the second time. Was deemed a legal move on the field 🤷🏽♂️pic.twitter.com/1uteTIeetl— NFL on ClutchPoints (@ClutchPointsNFL) October 8, 2021
― lag∞n, Friday, 8 October 2021 02:36 (two years ago) link
there's no rule about how many times you can try to punt afaik!
― call all destroyer, Friday, 8 October 2021 02:48 (two years ago) link
lol seeing so many tweets expressing bafflement at this. did everyone just assume you got to punt once per play?
― call all destroyer, Friday, 8 October 2021 02:50 (two years ago) link
yeah but you can't punt past the line of scrimmage which I think he clearly was
― frogbs, Friday, 8 October 2021 02:51 (two years ago) link
You can punt any time. You can even punt, run downfield, pick it up and regain possession. It's just that no one does any more. Used to be called the "quick kick" and the QB was the surprise punter. The domination of the forward pass play made that trick obsolete.
― more difficult than I look (Aimless), Friday, 8 October 2021 02:53 (two years ago) link
xp ok i wasn't looking at that, and that would be a bad miss by the refs
― call all destroyer, Friday, 8 October 2021 02:53 (two years ago) link
his plant foot seems like its right on the line not sure if its one of those deals where if any part of your body is behind the line its cool or what
― lag∞n, Friday, 8 October 2021 02:56 (two years ago) link
well I personally am in favor of the NBA rule where sick dunks and blocks don't get called as fouls if they look awesome enough. punters never get to do anything cool like that anymore now that coaches figured out you're supposed to go for it on a lot of 4th downs
― frogbs, Friday, 8 October 2021 02:58 (two years ago) link
guess that punter is a former aussie rules football player which stands to reason
― lag∞n, Friday, 8 October 2021 03:00 (two years ago) link
well I think that's how it works for QBs right? who knows maybe it is different for punters. no one on Twitter would know that
btw FOX we don't really need to see 35 replays of Russell Wilson getting his finger fucked up. why do they do this
― frogbs, Friday, 8 October 2021 03:01 (two years ago) link
lmaooo 2 minutes on the clock and Geno Smith has a chance to win it
― frogbs, Friday, 8 October 2021 03:17 (two years ago) link
oh he immediately got picked off
― frogbs, Friday, 8 October 2021 03:18 (two years ago) link
ah well nevertheless
― lag∞n, Friday, 8 October 2021 03:18 (two years ago) link
lol i said to myself he’ll throw a pick rn
― johnny crunch, Friday, 8 October 2021 03:18 (two years ago) link
Good for Geno still making a NFL paycheck at age 31. I bet Chase Daniel gives him a high five any time they run into each other.
― earlnash, Friday, 8 October 2021 16:42 (two years ago) link
He looked solid until he didn’t

Actually don’t think that pick was his fault, Lockett tripped over his own feet. Probably should’ve made a different throw with 3 defenders in the area but backups tend not to improvise like that
― frogbs, Friday, 8 October 2021 16:55 (two years ago) link
yah not his fault... but still

This Packers-Bengals game is a treat. I didn’t even mean to watch it. Now I’m worried Fox is going to have to yank it for the local afternoon game.
― beard papa, Sunday, 10 October 2021 20:20 (two years ago) link
Pretty shocked they went for the FG on 4th and inches. I guess Crosby told LaFleur “seriously I got a feeling about this one”
