Don’t like Romo’s insistence that Mahomes is gonna play “a bunch of” Super Bowls after this, we all saw how that worked out for Aaron Rodgers

frogbs, Monday, 8 February 2021 03:01 (five years ago)

yeah that was silly

lag∞n, Monday, 8 February 2021 03:03 (five years ago)

romo sucks at filling time

final tally, via @ESPNStatsInfo:

Mahomes was pressured on 29/56 dropbacks--the most of any QB in Super Bowl history.

Brady was pressured on 4/30--the lowest of his SB career.

Because visiting our daughter on Sunday afternoons has been one of the major priorities of my life for more than a couple of decades now, I've missed watching almost every Superbowl in that period. After each, reading about them in the sports section, I have missed very few nail-biters. A few were close, but they're mostly non-events after three quarters or less.

Due to the pandemic, our visits withe our daughter are sharply curtailed this year, including today. Consequently, I got home today during halftime. Since halftime I have watched a total of five minutes of game play. This Super Bowl has regressed to the mean.

Compromise isn't a principle, it's a method (Aimless), Monday, 8 February 2021 03:19 (five years ago)

That's cool!

Thank you Bruce Arians for showing the world that all 3 of your coordinators can be black, your assistant head coach can be black, you can have 2 full time women coaches and be the best team in the world. BA you’re a trail blazer. Leadership doesn’t have a look!

the bucs managed to get 29 pressures while only blitzing 6 times

tiwa-nty one savage (voodoo chili), Monday, 8 February 2021 03:29 (five years ago)

thats what i like to call "a winning formula"

lag∞n, Monday, 8 February 2021 03:30 (five years ago)

also impressive that mahomes only got sacked three of those times

tiwa-nty one savage (voodoo chili), Monday, 8 February 2021 03:30 (five years ago)

he's probably the best of all time at getting rid of the ball

lag∞n, Monday, 8 February 2021 03:37 (five years ago)

Based on what I saw (and heard) of this Super Bowl, Dave Davies, Siouxsie Sioux, Laurie Anderson, and the estate of Lee Hazlewood all made money tonight!

Josefa, Monday, 8 February 2021 03:39 (five years ago)

It’s weird how the people who you’d least expect are into gambling now that we’re all forced to stay home all the time

you guys

Дарья (daria-g), Monday, 8 February 2021 03:52 (five years ago)

Sum of Mahomes distance traveled: 468 yards
Sum of Brady distance traveled: 37 yards

Hah holy shit

Kept waiting for a 29-yard sack like Dallas put on my man Bob Griese in Super Bowl VI

Josefa, Monday, 8 February 2021 04:14 (five years ago)

turns out it's not just "Brady vs. Mahomes"

frogbs, Monday, 8 February 2021 04:14 (five years ago)

I'm not a football fan, but I am a sports fan, so I'm intrigued by the where-does-Brady-rank-among-team-athletes? question. I just don't know how to weigh a quarterback with seven titles against Bill Russell's 11 or Yogi Berra's 10--or against Gretzky, Jordan, etc.

clemenza, Monday, 8 February 2021 06:23 (five years ago)

Doing it 7 times with two teams in a sport where dynasties appeared to be dead after free agency arrived in the NFL makes him GOAT to me

tom brady certainly has an argument to having the greatest career of any athlete, but calling a guy who could never run fast than a 5.0 on his 40-yard dash the greatest athlete ever grinds my gears a bit haha

tiwa-nty one savage (voodoo chili), Monday, 8 February 2021 14:13 (five years ago)

*faster than

tiwa-nty one savage (voodoo chili), Monday, 8 February 2021 14:13 (five years ago)

i mean you have to say he's had the greatest career of any football player

but he's not the greatest athlete

Jordan has the accomplishments plus groundbreaking play plus athleticism

Tiger Woods the same

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 8 February 2021 14:25 (five years ago)

Brady didn't change anything about how the game or his position was played

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 8 February 2021 14:28 (five years ago)

I think Wayne Gretsky kinda wins this argument

frogbs, Monday, 8 February 2021 14:29 (five years ago)

hockey isn't real

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 8 February 2021 14:30 (five years ago)

actually it's very real and I'm so sick of hearing about it all the time

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 8 February 2021 14:30 (five years ago)

idk these arguments are weird when it comes to football cuz to me Mahomes was clearly the better QB, as was Rodgers the game before, but the Bucs made it so much easier on Brady, he was mostly hitting short throws from the pocket, which even say Mitch Trubisky could do. you don't see stuff like that in the NBA, where you usually live and die by your best guy.

frogbs, Monday, 8 February 2021 14:46 (five years ago)

yeah theres sort of a problem with making team sport championships the deciding factor for individual greatness lol

lag∞n, Monday, 8 February 2021 14:49 (five years ago)

even in the nba tho there it is more excusable
