Because visiting our daughter on Sunday afternoons has been one of the major priorities of my life for more than a couple of decades now, I've missed watching almost every Superbowl in that period. After each, reading about them in the sports section, I have missed very few nail-biters. A few were close, but they're mostly non-events after three quarters or less.

Due to the pandemic, our visits withe our daughter are sharply curtailed this year, including today. Consequently, I got home today during halftime. Since halftime I have watched a total of five minutes of game play. This Super Bowl has regressed to the mean.

the bucs managed to get 29 pressures while only blitzing 6 times

thats what i like to call "a winning formula"

also impressive that mahomes only got sacked three of those times

he's probably the best of all time at getting rid of the ball

I'm not a football fan, but I am a sports fan, so I'm intrigued by the where-does-Brady-rank-among-team-athletes? question. I just don't know how to weigh a quarterback with seven titles against Bill Russell's 11 or Yogi Berra's 10--or against Gretzky, Jordan, etc.

Doing it 7 times with two teams in a sport where dynasties appeared to be dead after free agency arrived in the NFL makes him GOAT to me

tom brady certainly has an argument to having the greatest career of any athlete, but calling a guy who could never run fast than a 5.0 on his 40-yard dash the greatest athlete ever grinds my gears a bit haha

actually it's very real and I'm so sick of hearing about it all the time

idk these arguments are weird when it comes to football cuz to me Mahomes was clearly the better QB, as was Rodgers the game before, but the Bucs made it so much easier on Brady, he was mostly hitting short throws from the pocket, which even say Mitch Trubisky could do. you don't see stuff like that in the NBA, where you usually live and die by your best guy.

yeah theres sort of a problem with making team sport championships the deciding factor for individual greatness lol

even in the nba tho there it is more excusable
