I'm still just sitting here trying to understand what the hell the Packers were thinking

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 25 January 2021 00:47 (five years ago)

made no fn sense

lag∞n, Monday, 25 January 2021 00:49 (five years ago)

Ok here’s what I think his reasoning was

You score the TD, you still have to make 2 point conversion, stop Brady on the other side, then win in OT, each of which are 50/50 propositions

By kicking the FG you have to get a 3-and-out then go all out for the TD, and you win without having to worry about a 2pt conversion or overtime. Their defense had been stopping the run all day & Brady probably ain’t taking many risks on offense in that situation. And the Packers can definitely go 80 yards in 90 seconds even without a TO.

Still think it was the wrong decision but it’s not like an all time bad decision the way some people on Twitter are claiming

frogbs, Monday, 25 January 2021 00:57 (five years ago)

If Valdez Scantling holds onto that earlier 2 pointer I think he goes for it

frogbs, Monday, 25 January 2021 00:59 (five years ago)

Why the fuck would the Texans even think about trading Deshaun Watson, a top-ten QB with four years left on his deal?? They’d have to get like eight first-round picks to make it worth it. I don’t care how unhappy he is, he’s not sitting out the next four seasons, come the fuck on.

Back in 2004, Ricky Williams, the American football player, left the Miami Dolphins after a third strike for smoking weed and disappeared. He’d had a notable career besides, but this was the capper: He said goodbye to his coach from Hawaii and vanished off the face of the Earth.

wow

frogbs, Friday, 29 January 2021 23:16 (five years ago)

is that the guy who did the 30 for 30 about him?

That's not really my scene (I'm 41) (forksclovetofu), Saturday, 30 January 2021 04:43 (five years ago)

that's pretty fucking amazing.

also I will always <3 Ricky, even if he was like an on-again/off-again lover. he was his own man, he did whatever he felt like in the moment, and sometimes that changed ten minutes later

if Spaghetti-Os had whammy bars (Neanderthal), Saturday, 30 January 2021 04:45 (five years ago)

in the long run for him, it's good that he left the league early imo

yeah smokin weed 24/7 much better for your health

frogbs, Saturday, 30 January 2021 04:52 (five years ago)

he had 10k yards! I remember him getting over 1,000 for us at age 34 that one late-career season.

if Spaghetti-Os had whammy bars (Neanderthal), Saturday, 30 January 2021 05:06 (five years ago)

Wow!

always had a lot of love and empathy for this guy <3

brimstead, Saturday, 30 January 2021 18:24 (five years ago)

That 2002 season of his is still one of Dolfan legend. 1854 yards

Stafford traded to the Rams

Sucks for Goff, absolutely the last place you want to end up

frogbs, Sunday, 31 January 2021 03:12 (five years ago)

when this is done, the Rams will have had one first round pick in the last 8 seasons.

and that pick was Jared Goff

if Spaghetti-Os had whammy bars (Neanderthal), Sunday, 31 January 2021 03:14 (five years ago)

rams gave up A LOT

lag∞n, Sunday, 31 January 2021 03:14 (five years ago)

for a 32 year old QB, which isn't exactly ancient or even approximating it for the QB position buuuuut....you're still on the back half of your career.

Poor Goff. maybe he'll retire.

if Spaghetti-Os had whammy bars (Neanderthal), Sunday, 31 January 2021 03:18 (five years ago)

I mean fuck it, it's the NFL, it's not irrational for them to think they are close, you don't get a lot of shots to get a QB of that caliber

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Sunday, 31 January 2021 03:27 (five years ago)

it's just that they were literally in the Super Bowl two years ago!

Goff hasn't been *quite* the same QB since, but he's still solid, and even Stafford had some lean years (like 2012). is this going to be the thing that propels them? idk...this year, Goff breaking his thumb in Week 16 hurt the QB stability which definitely affected them in the playoffs, and they still got to the division round!

idk if giving up that much for him is wise.

if Spaghetti-Os had whammy bars (Neanderthal), Sunday, 31 January 2021 03:32 (five years ago)

i could see doing that for like...Deshaun Watson, sure

if Spaghetti-Os had whammy bars (Neanderthal), Sunday, 31 January 2021 03:35 (five years ago)

lmao

Following news of the trade, the Rams' Super Bowl odds for the 2021 season moved from +1800 to +1500 at Caesars Sportsbook by William Hill.

if Spaghetti-Os had whammy bars (Neanderthal), Sunday, 31 January 2021 03:36 (five years ago)

Goff is not even comparable to Stafford

Stafford is going to make it really hard for Hall of Fame voters because he doesn't feel like a hall of fame guy but he poised to pass up a lot of hall of fame guys on the all time passing stats

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Sunday, 31 January 2021 03:39 (five years ago)

it's a lot but at the same time you look at how short windows are, like Philly going from the Super Bowl to a total shitshow so I get it

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Sunday, 31 January 2021 03:45 (five years ago)

hope it works out, always wanted to see Stafford on a decent team, but still yikes for the Rams hitching their future to a 32-year old who's gotten hit 5,000 times

frogbs, Sunday, 31 January 2021 03:56 (five years ago)

the Staff also gets to pad his stats when his team is losing in garbage time a lot. granted, he also took the Lions to the playoffs for the first times in years, so I'm not knocking him, but Goff had a Top 3 QB season in 2018.

i kinda feel like this article here tbh: https://www.ocregister.com/2021/01/30/jared-goff-and-the-rams-did-he-change-or-did-they/

if Spaghetti-Os had whammy bars (Neanderthal), Sunday, 31 January 2021 04:00 (five years ago)

now, Goff in Detroit, I think that's gonna suck, but I figure they're not committing to him for the long haul

if Spaghetti-Os had whammy bars (Neanderthal), Sunday, 31 January 2021 04:00 (five years ago)

stafford will be good for the rams for a couple seasons, which is what they’re getting him for.

also think stafford is 10-12 mil cheaper per year than goff so they should be able to grab an extra free agent or two

tiwa-nty one savage (voodoo chili), Sunday, 31 January 2021 04:09 (five years ago)

is this the first time in his career stafford has a good coach

Wayne Grotski (symsymsym), Sunday, 31 January 2021 04:51 (five years ago)

he's poised to leapfrog about 5 or 6 retired qbs on the all time yards list kinda interesting to see who's on there some unexpected names

http://www.espn.com/nfl/history/leaders/_/stat/passyards

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Sunday, 31 January 2021 15:12 (five years ago)

a lot of qbs had one great season

duante culpepper put up one amazing year, doing it consistently over a long period of time is what makes a good qb

stafford has never had a team close to this rams team around him

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Sunday, 31 January 2021 15:14 (five years ago)

he’s a gamer, a great dude, and he’s been durable except for 2019

tiwa-nty one savage (voodoo chili), Monday, 1 February 2021 02:22 (five years ago)

long term, this trade is scary for the rams but windows close quick

tiwa-nty one savage (voodoo chili), Monday, 1 February 2021 02:23 (five years ago)

that one amazing Daunte year is why my Dolphins signed him in free agency. mooooootherfucker. I set that jersey on fire.

During virtual offseason workouts, Gronk had to run sprints, record them and send them to the Bucs. So, to get out of it, he'd record himself running sprints in different shirts on the same day. Then, he'd send in the videos on different days.
