lol that (jets DC) gregg williams was not made available to the media after the game, while the rookie CB who got burnt was

where is the #accountability

mookieproof, Monday, 7 December 2020 00:30 (three years ago) link

Hilarious that Williams used to stick Jabril Peppers 40 yards deep every play when he was DC in Cleveland. WHERE’S YOUR PEPPERS NOW WILLIAMS.

I mean once he broke free initially this was the best outcome tbh

I'm all in on hurts. no reason to go back to wentz, except maybe for sneaks on 3rd and 4th and short because he's still a god at that

k3vin k., Monday, 7 December 2020 00:59 (three years ago) link

Yeah I’m not sure who you want in 2021 but clearly you gotta go with Hurts right now

frogbs, Monday, 7 December 2020 01:24 (three years ago) link

yeah, the dynamic of the game changed a bit when he came in

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Monday, 7 December 2020 01:28 (three years ago) link

if Hurts is indeed a starting-level talent you'll probably find out in the next 3 games. or you can start Wentz and lose all 3

frogbs, Monday, 7 December 2020 04:19 (three years ago) link

you can start Wentz and lose all 3

and it's astonishing how many head coaches would view this as "the safe option"

Respectfully Yours, (Aimless), Monday, 7 December 2020 04:40 (three years ago) link

Losing is the new winning

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Monday, 7 December 2020 05:29 (three years ago) link

speaking of I'm convinced something fishy is going on with the way the Jets defended that final play, apparently no team in NFL history has called a defense anywhere close to that in a similar situation

frogbs, Monday, 7 December 2020 05:30 (three years ago) link

why would you go through the trouble of being competitive and taking the lead with 11 seconds left only to go "lol jk", though? Like, if you wanna tank without plausible deniability....you pretty much can in the NFL.

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Monday, 7 December 2020 05:39 (three years ago) link

unless it was "oh shit, Jacksonville blew their game"

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Monday, 7 December 2020 05:39 (three years ago) link

I’m not saying it was the plan all along, I’m saying they tried to win in much the same way I “try” to beat my 6 year old in Mario Party

frogbs, Monday, 7 December 2020 06:01 (three years ago) link

they pretty much had won the game though! I feel like if ownership had sent it down to 'give up', Gregg could have dialed up much shittier defensive class on downs 1-3.

idgaf if they were tanking tbh, the amount of people calling for investigations is pretty hilarious - cos are they gonna go back in time and penalize every other team that did it (including my own, last year)?. i just think coaches coulda guaranteed a loss much earlier than 0:11 remaining.

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Monday, 7 December 2020 06:07 (three years ago) link

there's probably someone in the jets front office who's relieved, but gase and williams will be gone whether they get lawrence or not, and none of the players have anything at all to gain from going 0-16

mookieproof, Monday, 7 December 2020 06:10 (three years ago) link

and it *is* vmic for williams

mookieproof, Monday, 7 December 2020 06:13 (three years ago) link

lol

The #Jets have fired defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, per sources.

there should be a fundraising telethon for NFL teams victimized by Adam Gase's coaching

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Monday, 7 December 2020 19:01 (three years ago) link

i guess it's good that they recognize it, but i've never seen a steelers team so incapable of running the ball

mookieproof, Tuesday, 8 December 2020 01:14 (three years ago) link

did they re-sign Zerouoe or something

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 8 December 2020 01:15 (three years ago) link

i mean connor is out and their starting center is out but dag

mookieproof, Tuesday, 8 December 2020 01:17 (three years ago) link

xp that is a sweet deep cut

mookieproof, Tuesday, 8 December 2020 01:19 (three years ago) link

next you'll be talking about walter abercrombie

mookieproof, Tuesday, 8 December 2020 01:20 (three years ago) link

hoo boy, can the hatcats win this

a certain derecho (brownie), Tuesday, 8 December 2020 01:21 (three years ago) link

i'm not sure how many 11-0 teams there have been, but this is an awfully bad one -- all they can do on offense is six-yard outs

might this set up a showdown with the cleve brownies???

mookieproof, Tuesday, 8 December 2020 01:24 (three years ago) link

have a feeling both teams will be resting starters on the last game of the season

a certain derecho (brownie), Tuesday, 8 December 2020 01:28 (three years ago) link

yeah, I've not been a believer in this Steelers team being undefeated level good. this was overdue

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 8 December 2020 01:29 (three years ago) link

NFC BEAST

frogbs, Tuesday, 8 December 2020 01:31 (three years ago) link

really am disappointed that the hatcats and NYFG won this week -- wanted to see how low the BEAST could go

mookieproof, Tuesday, 8 December 2020 01:35 (three years ago) link

have a feeling both teams will be resting starters on the last game of the season

i don't disagree, but when did the browns last do this (for positive reasons)?

mookieproof, Tuesday, 8 December 2020 01:43 (three years ago) link

Never. Even when they were good in the 80s they needed to win the last game for various reason.

Though if the browns win their next three and pit loses one between now and week 17....

a certain derecho (brownie), Tuesday, 8 December 2020 02:02 (three years ago) link

xp steelers could easily lose to the bills and/or colts

if the brownies can beat the ravens next monday, it might be on

division title on the line in clevo january 3 would be cherce

mookieproof, Tuesday, 8 December 2020 03:15 (three years ago) link

some Steeler fans I know whining it was the short schedule that caused them to lose lol

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 8 December 2020 03:16 (three years ago) link

if you can't beat Washington on one day's rest, hang it up, son!

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 8 December 2020 03:17 (three years ago) link

i'm sure it didn't help, but cmon

mookieproof, Tuesday, 8 December 2020 03:19 (three years ago) link

hatcats

johnny crunch, Tuesday, 8 December 2020 18:56 (three years ago) link

mmhmm

Bryant had taken the field for pregame warm-ups despite the fact that, per league protocols, his two inconclusive tests should have been treated as if they were positive, and he should have been "subject to the other requirements and procedures of a positive test."

A source told ESPN that Bryant was already on the field by the time the league found out the results of his tests were inconclusive.

The NFL and NFLPA are not worried about close contacts with Bryant, sources told ESPN, because the Ravens have been operating under exceedingly strict protocols for the past two weeks, effectively eliminating the possibility of close contacts.

Bryant was not wearing a face covering at all times.

mookieproof, Wednesday, 9 December 2020 04:11 (three years ago) link
