it's very odd to me how people seem to think no people of color watch football when a majority of all football players are people of color

just going off of experience as someone whose spent my entire life living within a 30 mile radius of DC. obviously the washington team has fans of color but football isn't big in the city itself

ok i regret posting that because i was only ever making a flippant generalization that the football team has never been a big part of DC metro culture like the wizards or even the nats are, they belong to maryland and virginia. i've met more WFT fans from baltimore (from the post-colts pre-ravens era) than i have from DC city proper. i spent six years in PG county (the home of go-go music AND... fedex field) and i still met surprisingly few fans who were native to the county. the idea of snyder using something like go-go to brand his team just strikes me as cheap. of course chuck brown was supposedly a big sk*ns fan so what do i know.

lived in silver spring now for 5 or 6 years and i don't think i've seen a single bumper sticker in that time. might be a different story if the team didn't suck
