frogbs, Sunday, 13 October 2019 23:18 (six years ago)

they almost jetsed it away

mookieproof, Sunday, 13 October 2019 23:24 (six years ago)

Cowboys trying to stage a comeback vs. Jets trying to cling onto a lead is some real unstoppable object vs. immovable wall shit

frogbs, Sunday, 13 October 2019 23:25 (six years ago)

Is it time to hop on the niners bandwagon?

DJI, Monday, 14 October 2019 00:50 (six years ago)

the patriots have scored the most points and given up the fewest

lag∞n, Monday, 14 October 2019 01:02 (six years ago)

i thought this was going to be sad but it was too much fun. eli has reached enlightenment but he isn't going to tell anyone

https://www.si.com/nfl/2019/10/10/eli-manning-future-after-benching-according-to-friends-family

At Ole Miss, Manning’s karaoke machine had been his most prized possession. Nights out often ended back at his apartment, with the quarterback in jean shorts and a tank top screeching out Elton John, Def Leppard and Johnny Cash to a packed room.

When people tell him to start a Twitter account, he truly doesn’t understand why anyone would care what he has to say.

Years ago, on a flight home from London with friends, a loud explosion shortly before takeoff caused panic and forced everyone to deplane. In the terminal afterward, friends realized they didn’t know where Eli was, so they notified a flight attendant. Manning was soon found, fast asleep in his seat.

Eli didn’t speak until he was three, not because he couldn’t but because he didn’t want to.

It all reminds one friend of something Manning told him back in high school, that his ideal career was to be a 15-year NFL backup.

At one point, of course, Jack Handey is mentioned, and Manning’s eyes light up. He lifts himself off the couch and dashes to his study. When he returns he’s holding two books of Deep Thoughts, and as friends gather around he flips through the pages, reading his favorite quotes aloud.

a legend tbh

lag∞n, Monday, 14 October 2019 01:54 (six years ago)

congrats to the steelers for a) not quite blowing a 24-0 fourth-quarter lead, and b) winning a game on the west coast

mookieproof, Monday, 14 October 2019 03:17 (six years ago)

I have never loved Eli more

Larry Elleison (rogermexico.), Monday, 14 October 2019 03:17 (six years ago)

also so happy he basically got to live his dream

Larry Elleison (rogermexico.), Monday, 14 October 2019 03:18 (six years ago)

That Steeler's win was a fugly game of beauty, got to admire winning that game with the walk-on QB. Bears historically have been good at this type of football.

earlnash, Tuesday, 15 October 2019 00:28 (six years ago)

I don't think Lamar Jackson is as fast as Michael Vick but he is really, really fast. Jackson is pretty good in the short passing game, he's got some touch. I'd say he's already better than Vick was at that part. Vick had a howitzer of an arm, no comparison there.

earlnash, Tuesday, 15 October 2019 00:33 (six years ago)

Vick made me crazy watching him run the ball leaving it all palmed out like a basketball. He lost a bunch of fumbles because of that stuff.

earlnash, Tuesday, 15 October 2019 00:36 (six years ago)

Stafford on pace for 700 yards, lmao Packers secondary

frogbs, Tuesday, 15 October 2019 00:49 (six years ago)

earlnash: it's okay to post mark malone, but never post bubby

mookieproof, Tuesday, 15 October 2019 01:04 (six years ago)

cannot appreciate the TD pass after that bogus face mask call on trey flowers

Дарья (daria-g), Tuesday, 15 October 2019 02:53 (six years ago)

Yeah that was pretty bad

Could’ve easily gotten the Pack on DPI on the Lions next drive too

frogbs, Tuesday, 15 October 2019 03:07 (six years ago)

That said it’s been a pretty shit luck game for the Packers outside of that, with all the dropped passes and bizzaro turnovers

frogbs, Tuesday, 15 October 2019 03:10 (six years ago)

2 phantom face mask calls, plus non-call on Packers pass interference, this game was bullshit.

A breezy pop-rock feel fairly typical of the mid-'80s (Dan Peterson), Tuesday, 15 October 2019 03:27 (six years ago)

I dunno if it's like this for a lot of teams but it really does seem like the Packers have played a lot of games that are directly decided by bad reffing decisions - the Fail Mary, the "Dez caught it" game, the phantom face mask vs. Detroit that led to that insane last minute Hail Mary, all those 'roughing' calls on Clay Matthews last year, the Week 4 Eagles game where they missed two blatant crucial PI calls, now this

frogbs, Tuesday, 15 October 2019 03:51 (six years ago)

It is totally crazy that NFL (and really any) of these pro athletes lose all their money.

This is the crap benefits of the NFL...

NFL players are also vested after three seasons. They earn $470 a month for each year they played. So according to The Street, Brett Favre, who played 20 years, will get about $112,000 a year once he turns 55. The NFL's optional 401(k) plan matches player contributions at 200%. Players that participate in four or more seasons can also get a $65,000 annuity bonus.

Of course, you probably will die young unless you play QB...

The NBA and MLB plans are crazy good though, not as many total players and much more games though.

Дарья (daria-g), Sunday, 20 October 2019 19:12 (six years ago)

lag∞n, Tuesday, 22 October 2019 21:55 (six years ago)

lag∞n, Tuesday, 22 October 2019 21:56 (six years ago)

theyre getting a rush and then gobbling up desperate passes

lag∞n, Tuesday, 22 October 2019 21:57 (six years ago)

played all trash teams except for weirdly the bills but if youre playing bad teams u cant ask more than completely annihilating them

lag∞n, Tuesday, 22 October 2019 22:11 (six years ago)

pats play the entire afc north, plus one afc south team and one afc west team. is that normal?

also they play one game out of the eastern time zone (houston), which is nice

mookieproof, Tuesday, 22 October 2019 23:00 (six years ago)

Their schedule has been absurdly easy

Mario Meatwagon (Moodles), Tuesday, 22 October 2019 23:03 (six years ago)

the patriots are actually bad, and we have a whole thread for them anyway thanks

k3vin k., Tuesday, 22 October 2019 23:06 (six years ago)

Two day Jewish holiday just ended kev how’d we do :,( :,( :,(

Mordy, Tuesday, 22 October 2019 23:07 (six years ago)

it wasn't great

k3vin k., Wednesday, 23 October 2019 11:30 (six years ago)

I know the Pats have played a garbage slate but even still what they're doing is just bonkers. their margin of victory is 25 points/game, 10 points higher than the next (SF). if they continue anywhere near this pace they're gonna set all sorts of single season records

frogbs, Wednesday, 23 October 2019 14:17 (six years ago)

Guess the Bears’ honeymoon with their new kicker is over
