have the bills really handed the keys to former pitt great nathan peterman

mookieproof, Tuesday, 13 March 2018 23:24 (eight years ago)

I think they're planning on trading up in the first round and getting a QB, or possibly taking one at 12 where they're at now.

burzum buddies (brownie), Tuesday, 13 March 2018 23:31 (eight years ago)

i think it's time for the J.P. Losman era to finally begin

omar little, Wednesday, 14 March 2018 00:23 (eight years ago)

Jordy to the Raiders for 2 years/$15 million. sounds like he really wanted to stay in GB but they weren't offering much over the minimum

not sure I understand what GB is doing. Rodgers to Jordy has been the best QB-WR combo in the league since 2010. He's a fan favorite and Rodgers' favorite guy. Dude was still pretty good last year when 12 was on the field. Hundley couldn't do shit with him but that's because Hundley sucks. I get that 32 is right around when you wanna be cutting WRs but even still, GB's got like 2-3 more years of Aaron Rodgers in his prime, why take away his best weapon like that. damn it all.

excited that the jets' plans for another decade of mediocrity are well advanced

Roberto Spiralli, Saturday, 17 March 2018 15:35 (eight years ago)

Jets win more games, but they are so dumb as a club, easily as bad as the Bears and Browns. The Chargers are a totally different kind of stupid.

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 21 March 2018 18:05 (eight years ago)

i'm in favor of simplifying the rule however:

if someone is bobbling the ball while they go out of bounds and end up w/ full control (it never touches the ground) but they didn't secure it until out of bounds - a catch?

if someone obviously catches it (they seem to have complete control) but either while going to the ground or through a defensive player hitting the ball, it pops loose. is this a fumble?

Mordy, Wednesday, 21 March 2018 18:07 (eight years ago)

per the nfl no to the first one. in my nfl it would be a catch.

on the second, if the player is down before the ball comes out it's not a fumble, otherwise it is

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 21 March 2018 18:14 (eight years ago)

that would kind of encourage the sideline to get in the way to make it difficult for the receiver to secure the catch OOB, right?

frogbs, Wednesday, 21 March 2018 18:43 (eight years ago)

there are already sideline violations that would apply if someone actively tried to interfere

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 21 March 2018 19:00 (eight years ago)

common sense dictates that you should have control of the ball and two feet in for it to be a catch. the controversy happens, iirc, when a player does this but shifts or adjusts the ball within his arms as he's preparing to go down. imo it's usually pretty easy to decide whether the player did this in a conscious, controlled fashion or not and that should be the rule

District Attorney of Harris
County, Texas announced it has indicted Eagles’ DE Michael Bennett for felony charge for injuring a 66-year-old paraplegic working at NRG Stadium to control access to field at SuperBowl LI. A warrant has been issued for Bennett’s arrest.

huh

k3vin k., Friday, 23 March 2018 18:50 (eight years ago)

there are many odd things about this, not least

a 66-year-old paraplegic working at NRG Stadium to control access to field

and why now over a year later?

10 years in prison for shoving past someone this country is insane

obviously he will not serve prison time

pretty indefensible though imo

Houston PD said the Michael Bennett indictment took so long because they prioritized more significant cases before this. ...Said there is no video of the incident, but a police officer witnessed it.

giants are so eager to get rid of their best player, and the rams are confident that their culture can absorb a guy who likes winning and hates ben mcadoo

Packers would probably be Super Bowl favorites if they could grab him

frogbs, Monday, 26 March 2018 21:00 (eight years ago)

#Jets coach Todd Bowles, at the annual coaches breakfast, said they traded up to No. 3 not with one player in mind but with 6-7 they believe they’ll have a chance at. Will zero in in a few weeks.

literally the stupidest organization in professional sports

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 27 March 2018 13:19 (eight years ago)

wow, if only they had a top 6 pick then they wouldn't have had to trade...

oh

MooVaughn.org (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 27 March 2018 14:36 (eight years ago)

to be fair, this is Bowles saying this, not Maccagnan. I'm hoping that Maccagnan had 2 or 3 specific dudes in mind when he made the franchise-altering trade

MooVaughn.org (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 27 March 2018 14:38 (eight years ago)

i have no particular opinion of his coaching ability and certainly the league doesn't need *fewer* black head coaches, but it's surprising to me that he still has a job

mookieproof, Tuesday, 27 March 2018 18:39 (eight years ago)

Rams receive:
WR Brandin Cooks
4th-round pick

Patriots receive:
1st-round pick
6th-round pick

Wow terrible trade for rams

Mordy, Tuesday, 3 April 2018 22:17 (eight years ago)

feel like this is the tipping point from the rams being laudably aggressive to setting fire to their resources.

meanwhile, the instant pats fan takes break down between trading for obj and trading up for one of the qbs

Cowboys expected to release WR Dev Bryant today, barring an unexpected last-minute change of heart, per @toddarcher and me. But the plan going into meeting that is now underway was to part ways with Bryant.

rip dev

i hope it doesn't affect team chemistry, i know he's tight with Evekiel Elliott.

Mordy, Friday, 13 April 2018 19:44 (eight years ago)

Bryant is pretty good but way over-rated in the same way many Cowboys end up being. Even when he was really fast earlier in his career, the guy seemed to me to drop a ton of balls. Don't think he was anywhere top level as like Julio Jones or Calvin Johnson.

You chuck the ball around for well over 4000 yards or more every year, someone is going to catch 80 balls and have a 1000 yard season.

Someone might pay for the brand name, but at best Bryant is a #2 receiver now that's going to have to muscle for short passes and I don't know if he's got the hands to stick and get paid at that job.

I'd put bets on the Hatcats trying to sign him, that seems like a dopey move they would make.

earlnash, Friday, 13 April 2018 20:53 (eight years ago)

One thing that cracks me up about every NFL off seasons is that no matter who the player is or plays, if they are available and worth talking about on sports radio, they automatically become a player of interest for the Jets.
