johnny crunch, Saturday, 10 September 2016 01:41 (nine years ago)

Football commentators discussing Colin Kaepernick is unbearable

horseshoe, Sunday, 11 September 2016 16:44 (nine years ago)

biden is at the philly game today

Mordy, Sunday, 11 September 2016 17:01 (nine years ago)

Mordy, Sunday, 11 September 2016 17:13 (nine years ago)

wentz era off to a nice start in philly

mookieproof, Sunday, 11 September 2016 17:14 (nine years ago)

typically skip pregame shows anyway but zero chance i would've tuned in today. someone posted pic of randy giving dilfer daggers, don't even want to imagine

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 11 September 2016 17:22 (nine years ago)

watching jets/bengals for some reason. jets rolled over bengals with ease first drive for the td. very disappointing. forte looks like he still has plenty

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 11 September 2016 17:22 (nine years ago)

xpost love randy forever

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Sunday, 11 September 2016 17:33 (nine years ago)

omg that browns "fake punt". astounding

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 11 September 2016 18:04 (nine years ago)

ronde barber is still terrible at announcing

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Sunday, 11 September 2016 18:06 (nine years ago)

had to look up the reaction just now - randy is the best

i understand the seahawks as a team are going to do a thing during the anthem today? not sure what. wonder if we get another round of freakouts. sigh

FREE BRADY (daria-g), Sunday, 11 September 2016 18:08 (nine years ago)

xpost

don't have the browns game but does RGIII still look terrible?

FREE BRADY (daria-g), Sunday, 11 September 2016 18:08 (nine years ago)

idk don't have the game either but by the #s he seems to be doing ok

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 11 September 2016 18:10 (nine years ago)

i was playing cricket one time at high school and was batting vs the star sports guy in our year. first play he threw the ball approx 100 mph and it nearly hit me. 2nd play as soon as he released the ball i just thought fuck this and literally ran away. and now, watching this game, it is interesting to see andy dalton do basically the same thing every dropback

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 11 September 2016 18:14 (nine years ago)

RG looks fine! Horrible play calling in the first quarter tho.

brownie, Sunday, 11 September 2016 18:24 (nine years ago)

oh that's good. rooting for RGIII to be successful! they did him wrong in washington

FREE BRADY (daria-g), Sunday, 11 September 2016 18:54 (nine years ago)

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 11 September 2016 19:34 (nine years ago)

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:08 (nine years ago)

Guys I hate the Bills. They had 987 penalties today.

horseshoe, Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:09 (nine years ago)

this last drive packers vs jax is insane

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:11 (nine years ago)

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:13 (nine years ago)

go pack go!

FREE BRADY (daria-g), Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:13 (nine years ago)

shouldn't jax have just gone for the 1st down on 3 & 1? then get to the line & spike it?

rip van wanko, Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:14 (nine years ago)

and that screen play was gutless

rip van wanko, Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:14 (nine years ago)

i think going for the quick slant made sense, bortles just rushed it. but yeah the 4th down play was pretty lame

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:15 (nine years ago)

raiders! wow

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:22 (nine years ago)

so many of the 1pm games were/are great, basically every game that didn't feature the browns or bills (sorry guys)

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:25 (nine years ago)

I am not emotionally ready for Joe Buck

horseshoe, Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:26 (nine years ago)

haha nope

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:28 (nine years ago)

so excited for football being back like 3 minutes ago and all of a sudden it's cowboys v giants

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:28 (nine years ago)

all of a sudden i started reevaluating my life choices because how many years have gone by and i'm sitting here watching ANOTHER cowboys-giants game called by joe buck

FREE BRADY (daria-g), Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:32 (nine years ago)

I kind of miss tony romo. Rooting against the cowboys isn't as fun without him.

horseshoe, Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:37 (nine years ago)

they have a QB named Dak :/

brownie, Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:43 (nine years ago)

RAIDERS :D

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:49 (nine years ago)

ok i need to watch the nfl network replay of the saints/raiders game. just now saw they went for two late in the 4th instead of kicking an extra point to tie. <3 the raiders

FREE BRADY (daria-g), Sunday, 11 September 2016 20:49 (nine years ago)

aw man, sad diego

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 11 September 2016 21:01 (nine years ago)

losing a 3 td lead vs the chiefs is pobably harder than getting the 3 td lead in the first place

Roberto Spiralli, Sunday, 11 September 2016 21:02 (nine years ago)

OBJ <3

FREE BRADY (daria-g), Sunday, 11 September 2016 21:10 (nine years ago)

thank you nfl for first annual loooool @ dallas

FREE BRADY (daria-g), Sunday, 11 September 2016 23:27 (nine years ago)

hah my family in Akron all say they expected him to be out for the season by Week 4, can't believe they were actually being too optimistic

frogbs, Monday, 12 September 2016 18:59 (nine years ago)

well...josh mccown was not really the reason the browns didn't win games last season. so the situation is bad but that's because it was already bad.

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 12 September 2016 19:00 (nine years ago)

yes but RGIII had like a 5% shot at maybe resembling what he was that one year in Washington while John McCown is 100% Josh McCown

frogbs, Monday, 12 September 2016 19:04 (nine years ago)

Josh "Raven Killer" McCown is back, baby

brownie, Monday, 12 September 2016 19:06 (nine years ago)

lol

johnny crunch, Monday, 12 September 2016 19:23 (nine years ago)

o lord what a fall from grace

thrusted pelvis-first back (ulysses), Monday, 12 September 2016 19:28 (nine years ago)

while John McCown is 100% Josh McCown

this is a p funny typo

johnny crunch, Monday, 12 September 2016 19:31 (nine years ago)

also would be a good wk 2 thread title

johnny crunch, Monday, 12 September 2016 19:33 (nine years ago)

I had to read it a couple times, I thought I typed "Josh McClown"

frogbs, Monday, 12 September 2016 19:34 (nine years ago)

"Joe is as tough as a $2 steak," coach John Harbaugh said. "My brother didn’t come up with that, either. It’s from an old western, just for the record."

FREE BRADY (daria-g), Monday, 12 September 2016 21:37 (nine years ago)

do... do we not have any other plan than leaving breeland on antonio brown here

FREE BRADY (daria-g), Tuesday, 13 September 2016 01:41 (nine years ago)

cousins looks terrible

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 13 September 2016 01:49 (nine years ago)

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 13 September 2016 02:24 (nine years ago)

Well, this is going to be a slog.

schwantz, Tuesday, 13 September 2016 02:37 (nine years ago)

is bnw around? is he still gorams or are they dead to him now?

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 13 September 2016 03:12 (nine years ago)

sidebar: I like that there's some raised fists during the anthem to complement taking a knee but some of these dudes look hella uncomfortable. keep yr head down, throw that fist high: just like the 68 Olympics.

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 13 September 2016 03:30 (nine years ago)

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 13 September 2016 04:03 (nine years ago)

Gabberts gotten away with like 4 throws that shoulda been picked

Spottie, Tuesday, 13 September 2016 04:34 (nine years ago)

even the niners want to go home

Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 13 September 2016 04:41 (nine years ago)

Trent Brown: 6'8", 355lbs!

schwantz, Tuesday, 13 September 2016 04:57 (nine years ago)

Could the Niners possibly be good, or are the Rams really that bad?

schwantz, Tuesday, 13 September 2016 05:21 (nine years ago)

case keenum is a septic tank of a qb with no one to throw to anyway. the niners defense played like they knew it and worse the rams offense played like they knew it. it's going to be impossible for them to move the ball when the defense knows it only has to defend 10 yards from the LOS. niners offense seems like it is probably bad also but they played a conservative game vs a good defense and were able to score with it.

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 13 September 2016 11:24 (nine years ago)

http://deadspin.com/trent-dilfer-should-consider-sitting-this-one-out-1786605611

Dilfer appeared on radio station KNBR on Tuesday to clarify his comments. He said he had prepared all week to refine his Countdown takes in a way that would be thoughtful, but not give in to the “politically correct police.” (His words.) Dilfer believed that too many people focused on the part of his spiel where he said the role of a backup quarterback is to shut up. Then, in a bizarre twist, Dilfer invoked the time when he was a backup on the Seattle Seahawks and kept his mouth shut about child slavery, because he didn’t want to derail the team.

“My wife and I had been introduced to some really disturbing stuff and other social injustices: Childhood slavery in our country. And I’d gone to a couple seminars and presentations where we got really deep in the weeds about this issue. It became a passion of ours to help fight this battle of childhood slavery around the country and I had a very big platform in Seattle and I could have leveraged being a Seattle Seahawk, being an NFL quarterback, done a lot to get that message out there, but I chose not to at the sake of not wanting to disrupt the team and I never want to draw attention to myself, and take it away from Matt, the rest of our team and our preparation to win.”
