obv this year it has felt like the nfc teams are a degree better than afc, but otoh that was ted ginn jr
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 25 January 2016 00:17 (eight years ago) link
nfc team imo, cardinals are overrated.
― call all destroyer, Monday, 25 January 2016 00:18 (eight years ago) link
season was kind of an uphill climb all the way for pats w/ injuries which is a shame because healthy first choice team is actually really strong. a lot of young players and the FAs coming up this year are only depth so next year could be even better.
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 25 January 2016 00:21 (eight years ago) link
yeah they were the best team in football until lewis and solder went down. both the running game and oline need a lot of reinforcing next year.
― call all destroyer, Monday, 25 January 2016 00:24 (eight years ago) link
jeez here we go
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 25 January 2016 00:26 (eight years ago) link
i figured it'd be the secondary that would fall back to being a patchwork mess this year but no, it's the line again
super cam! <3

dude was lucky he landed so perfectly
― Spottie, Monday, 25 January 2016 04:53 (eight years ago) link
Denver's defense played really well. Miller and Ware were relentless. Ware down the stretch seemed to be on Brady nearly every play. I kinda thought NE calling timeout on the fourth down play down in the redzone might have been a bit of a mistake as the D-line had to be gassed after chasing him for the few plays before hand.
AZ like Seattle last week just got cold cocked in the first half. Arizona was not in the game at all. Carolina was also pretty bloodthirsty going for 2 with like 4 to go up 20+ points.
Pretty much got the best offense in football going up against the best defense for the Superbowl. Carolina's D is pretty good too, although they are down a couple of guys in the defensive backfield.
― earlnash, Monday, 25 January 2016 05:00 (eight years ago) link
Gronk is also a beast. That guy is just unlike any other TE in football with that size and speed. He was great today.
― earlnash, Monday, 25 January 2016 05:03 (eight years ago) link
Agreed. He might legit be the most dominant player in his position in the league.
― from the perspective of a gay man, i will post them now (forksclovetofu), Monday, 25 January 2016 05:07 (eight years ago) link
I got to think Belichick's love of the two TE setup goes back to his days with the Giants as that is what they ran with Mark Bavaro and Zeke Mowatt with a single back. Both of those dudes were huge although Mowatt was pretty much just an extra offensive lineman as they rarely threw the ball too him. Bavaro was really good though, kind of a proto-Gronk of his day. Never really saw anyone break down Gronk as a blocker but as big as the dude is, I can't see him not being able to handle most linebackers or even some lineman.
― earlnash, Monday, 25 January 2016 05:53 (eight years ago) link
Colquitt was also a big part of the Denver win today, as he pinned NE quite a few times really deep in their endzone, a couple on some total long bomb punts.
― earlnash, Monday, 25 January 2016 05:55 (eight years ago) link
Panthers early 5-point favorites
― frogbs, Monday, 25 January 2016 15:51 (eight years ago) link
carolina don't seem to ever score less than 30 points. it feels like denver D has to play lights out again or else the panthers are going to win in the 1st half again
― Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 25 January 2016 15:56 (eight years ago) link
pretty much, plus Denver struggles to even score in the 20's...they're like the 15th best offense in football
― frogbs, Monday, 25 January 2016 15:58 (eight years ago) link
Panthers have this one in the bag, unless Joe Namath gets 50 years younger and suits up for Denver.
