there was talk that OU would revenge themselves for last year's bowl loss. it was talk.

alabama's tromping of msu makes me depressed. now I must hope clemson can run through them like grease through a goose, which seems far-fetched, but I am willing to hope.

"how the fuck did ohio state lose to michigan state?"

MSU hung around ok with Alabama in the first half, that interception right before half time in the red zone and then giving up the TD to start third quarter seemed to knock the life out of them. How the heck did Alabama lose to Mississippi State in a high scoring shutout? Same way really, it all comes down to mitigating mistakes often in football, perhaps more so in college ball. Alabama's turnovers were a big reason the Buckeye's knocked them off last year.

earlnash, Friday, 1 January 2016 21:34 (ten years ago)

Big thing with Alabama is that their backups on d-line and running back are better than most college clubs starters. Clemson looks pretty talented and quite fast. I could see them hanging with Alabama for at least a while. I got to think the Tide's got depth that can wear down any club on a good day.

johnny crunch, Friday, 1 January 2016 23:19 (ten years ago)

Stanford, frozen out of the playoffs, are making their case to have been included I think.

they need to interview the trailing coach in these blowouts going into the half instead of the leading 1

johnny crunch, Saturday, 2 January 2016 03:22 (ten years ago)

Oklahoma State never seemed much interested in this game, while Ole Miss was fired up from the first. The results speak for themselves.

all of these games are bad

Sorkinspeak coaxed out Oscar begging near the tabs of Link Wray (Sufjan Grafton), Saturday, 2 January 2016 03:51 (ten years ago)

I'll be watching Oregon v TCU tomorrow, bbut with Boykin out, one wonders whether TCU will fold or fight.

They woke up (a little).

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Sunday, 3 January 2016 02:40 (ten years ago)

I go make supper and eat it with my wife (during which time I have no inkling what's going on). Come back in time to see the 2OT and 3OT. I guess TCU decided they could play this game after all. Eh! So it goes.

the drop off from adams to lockie was about as steep as imaginable

J0rdan S., Sunday, 3 January 2016 04:11 (ten years ago)

I always try to remember that the players are pretty damn young and 97% of them will never play beyond college ball.

Poor Jeff Lockie was a senior. After all that work, all that time spent on the practice squad, in the weight room, learning the playbook, getting bashed around. Now this is how he'll be remembered, as the fuckup quarterback who blew the big lead in the bowl game. Shouldn't happen to a dog, let alone a young kid who put his whole heart into it.

joe tessitore on saban just now: "interesting to see nick take the field, hes a man of rituals right likes to watch the weather channel, likes to eat his cookies, likes to have his lettuce with a little bit of tuna or some turkey, and likes to walk a hundred yards before he sizes up a victory"

johnny crunch, Monday, 11 January 2016 23:38 (ten years ago)
