From the haha fuck u shanny thred of december, prescient words:
Bowlen says he anticipated the new coach would not have full say over personnel moves, the way Shanahan did. That means the Broncos might hire a general manager, but Bowlen says his priority was hiring a new coach first.
Bowlen you got that backwards homie.

i had a dream the other week that albert hayensworth unsigned his contract w/ the skins because he felt like he was betrayed by dan snyder. it was one of those dreams that was half a nap, shit tripped me out. then afterwards (unrelated) my house turned into a pool and a shark came in from the ceiling

so the competition committee is not going to discuss changing the overtime rules, leaving them with more time to talk about the highly impactful issues that affect every player, coach, owner, and fan, such as changing how the draft order works for teams that make the playoffs.

I WANTED THAT JOBactually i had this plan to be int'l goodwill ambassador for NFL, where, you would basically travel around the world & wear designer clothes & explain to important/wealthy people why NFL is awesome "I think NFL should look into playing some games @ south of France, I will go visit Marseille for a while and find out if this is a good business opportunity"

rules changes announced today:
- no bunching on onside kicks- 3 or more players forming a wedge on kick returns will result in a 15-yard penalty- shoulder and forearm hits added to "defenseless receiver" rules- blindside hits to the head will be added to unnecessary roughness

yes, maybe brady and welkah will survive next season
the defenseless receiver rule in particular, i was honestly afraid on a few plays that the guy broke his neck (boldin). don't know if clark/mcgahee qualifies..

nice! that'll be a super-fun matchup with throwbacks involved.
i agree with shoring up the unnecessary roughness rules; these were really loopholes that needed to be closed. i'm a bit surprised by the wedge becoming illegal. i would think most of the danger on kickoffs results from the speed involved and even without the wedge that's not going to change.

its also a sad situation for the family in question, mind.
That is a screwed up situation. My brother in laws' brother got in that very similar situation running his infant son to the ER a few months back. He was being followed right up to the ER doors with sirens going as his wife rushed in his son and they really worked him over throwing him to the ground and all. ER doc said if they had been a couple of minutes later the kid would have died.

Bowlen's statement on Cutler
March 31, 2009 9:24 PM
Denver Broncos president and CEO Pat Bowlen on Tuesday released the following statement:
"Numerous attempts to contact Jay Cutler in the last 10 days, both by Head Coach Josh McDaniels and myself, have been unsuccessful.
"A conversation with his agent earlier today clearly communicated and confirmed to us that Jay no longer has any desire to play for the Denver Broncos.
"We will begin discussions with other teams in an effort to accommodate his request to be traded."

depends where he gets traded, if it's the bucs or the jets or the vikings i think it wouldn't be a huge deal. if he gets traded to the lions then yeah he's a retard

detroit allowed second-most sacks this year, has no defense and no offensive weapons beyond megatron. don't really see why jay should prefer going there to going to the jets, tb, san fran, cleveland, or chicago (the other 5 teams that are being reported as interested right now).
