xpost I cannot believe Hernandez executed the man because he was talking to people he didn't approve of. That's a level of insanity I cannot fathom unless Hernandez is a true psychopath. Aren't most psychopaths intelligent?

I'm finally catching up on some of the details of this thanks to a handy ESPN.com timeline and OMG:

• Lloyd’s body was found at an industrial park half a mile from Hernandez’s home. In Lloyd’s pocket, McCauley said, were keys to a car Hernandez had rented.

• At 3:30 a.m. on June 17, just minutes after prosecutors say several witnesses have sworn they heard gunshots at the industrial park, Hernandez could be seen on video at his home brandishing a weapon.

I was joking about the psychopath comment above, but if these latest allegations are true, wow.

Hernandez became a father on Nov. 6 and said he intended to change his ways: "Now, another one is looking up to me. I can't just be young and reckless Aaron no more. I'm going to try to do the right things."

Lloyd's sister saw him leave the house with Hernandez and two other men at 2:30 a.m., the prosecution says.

The prosecution says Lloyd was murdered between 3:23 and 3:27, and that workers in a nearby plant heard gunshots.

(CNN) -- Aaron Hernandez, the former NFL tight end charged with murder in the death last week of an acquaintance, is now being investigated in connection with a double slaying in Boston's South End in July 2012, a law enforcement source close to the investigation told CNN.

The source gave no indication whether there was any connection between that investigation and Hernandez's current murder charge.

What is known is that the Boston Police Department has located and impounded a silver SUV with Rhode Island registration that police have been trying to find for almost a year, that's linked to the scene of a double homicide in 2012, the source said.

Investigators believe that Hernandez was renting the SUV at the time of those killings, the source said.

i'm wondering about how they found this rental car, why it took so long to find it...is all this coming from unearthed witnesses rolling over on him?

Colleague at work leans into my doorway this morning: "so... it turns out I'm neighbors with Aaron Hernandez". Me: "what?". She: "apparently he was renting one of the units at our complex. There was a black Hummer sitting in the parking lot, and they just towed it away".

They've probably gotten access to his credit card records and can track all his car rentals back for a few years and isolate VINs.
