"It's not a surprise to me that Tim would be picked up, obviously as I've said before, tremendous young man, very competitive and I look forward to competing against him," Jets coach Rex Ryan said Tuesday.

Asked if he was curious how Belichick planned to use Tebow, Ryan said, "Not really. Nope. If they want to replace Brady with him, that's fine."

Brady did stop short of stamping his approval on the Patriots potentially using Tebow in a special package on offense, one that would send him to the sideline.

"That's a very hypothetical question," said Brady, when asked how he'd react to coming off the field in favor of Tebow. "Maybe we'll deal with it if it happens."

“There’s a reason why he’s here,” tight end Aaron Hernandez said of Tebow, his former teammate at Florida. “I actually don’t know the reason yet, but we’ll see."

Got to say the Pats keep finding new reasons for people to both love and hate them.

Tim Tebow is apparently the focus of a bidding war between ESPN's SEC Network, CBS Sports and Fox Sports for college football analysis next season.

Not a joke.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 4 December 2013 23:45 (twelve years ago)

Oh the guy will be huge on TV for college football. As bad Tebow is at throwing the football, I have a hard time believing that Brandon Wheedon is a better QB than him.

http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/10/20/4859944/packers-vs-browns-brandon-weeden

Sad thing is that Tebow is definitely a good enough athlete, you have to think the guy could be a pro someplace else on the field. But hey, the guy has his principals, but I would think there would be something to the story if the guy agreed to being an H-Back or something of the sort and had success. The TV gig is always going to be there to an extent.

earlnash, Wednesday, 4 December 2013 23:52 (twelve years ago)

He might have the body type to be a fullback or a tight end but I don't think he could hack it. He was okay at running when he was with the Broncos but he added too much weight with the Jets.

Also his interviews were 100% platitudes. I doubt he could provide color commentary of value. He might be a good sideline reporter jock.

polyphonic, Wednesday, 4 December 2013 23:58 (twelve years ago)

Yeah, that's the stunner for me. This guy is not so great at the talking.

"One of my favorite quotes is 'I don't know what my future holds, but I know who holds my future.' And in that, it gives you peace to just continue to work, go after what your heart desires and when you do that, you don't have any regrets. I think that's the best way to live life," Tebow said.

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 31 August 2016 02:17 (nine years ago)

Interesting to note his arm was considered a bit below average, the article stated mist likely LF-1B for position.

The scout said he didn't see any issue in giving him a shot, worst comes to worse you sell some minor league jerseys and then have to release him.

earlnash, Wednesday, 31 August 2016 14:30 (nine years ago)

yeah definitely

CAD the swing was super powerful but it was all arms and his plane was almost comically uppercut, like out of a beer league. he's obv an insane athlete but at age 29 i really doubt he could be taught the mechanics to hit live pitching at the level he seems to want to play at
