lol quesadilla cutler, i dont think i ever read these posts

okay...this has been driving me nuts, but does anyone else remember on draft day coverage..seeing a brief cutaway shot of cutler eating a quesadilla like a retard while his mom put a napkin on his knee? he looked like such a herb we were calling him quesadilla cutler all day...was def the first sign of trouble with him....no one else remembers it except me and my friend

from the somethingawful forums:

Does anyone have a .gif of Jay Cutler eating those quesadillas on draft day?

from profootballtalk forums:

I knew Cutler was a big bitch when I saw his Mom feeding him a quesadilla on draft day, and wiping his mouth with a wet nap.

i would KILL for a gif i swear it.

i laughed at this

Honestly, an '80s party is probably the closest thing to his true habitat that Jay Cutler will ever find. Where else would a guy who is essentially a cross between Judd Nelson and Emilio Estevez's characters from The Breakfast Club be better suited spending his time?

it is pretty amazing that this dude is almost certainly going to hit free agency. i feel like this is a huge opportunity for those teams that just seem perennially unable to develop a QB. cleveland might be the prime spot for him, with that top defense and the great targets at wr1 and te, but for some reason i don't think they do it. i think it'd be contrary to the current personnel philosophy. arizona and tenn have got to be all over him, maybe even tampa. those sides are a legit qb away from being real playoff teams. minn will probably be in for him too. st. louis are probably going to pick someone with that top 3 http://images.chron.com/blogs/askacat/hatcat.JPG pick (lol). cincy think that they have a qb, bills probably do too. i think the jets probably can't afford him but don't rule it out, you never know with them fucks.

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 11 December 2013 21:17 (twelve years ago)

Arizona is most likely, imo, at least based on the post-Warner years. It's a qb last hurrah party around there.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 11 December 2013 21:21 (twelve years ago)

What a shame if the Bears let him go. Trestman + Cutler for the next 6 years could be really cool. If Trestman can make McCown look good who knows what he could do with Cutler.

like the bears before cutler :/

christmas candy bar (al leong), Thursday, 12 December 2013 15:38 (twelve years ago)

that of course is the other side of this. trestman and emery are placing huge bets on themselves (which btw is really absolutely the way to conduct yourself in their positions, tho rare). pay the money for cutler and you have 5 or 6 years of a very good qb, but then you can't spend that money elsewhere. they must believe that it is easier for them to find and develop a functional qb on the cheap than to restock a patchy roster on the cheap. i like trestman a lot off the back of this year and i hope that if they lay this bet it pays off for them.

Roberto Spiralli, Thursday, 12 December 2013 15:47 (twelve years ago)

cutler really is at the perfect talent level where both decisions are defensible, personally i would rather not tie up that much $$$ in a dude who is not leet and never will be but there's a huge potential downside to letting him go.

Theyve never had a legit QB since Luckman. Sign this guy or the curse will continue.

some good stuff here in general but

ONE NIGHT, WHILE we're eating dinner at a fancy hot dog place (if you're wondering whether the Bennetts made lewd jokes about the sausages -- what do you think?), I ask Michael, who's famously critical of the league's overpaid passers, what he thinks of Jay Cutler.

"Worst quarterback in the NFL," he says.

"I'd be open and he'd throw into double coverage," says Martellus, who spent the past three seasons as Cutler's teammate in Chicago.

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 3 August 2016 17:32 (nine years ago)

Cutler's response was pretty good.

Like the swallows at Capistrano, you can tell football season is getting close as people are starting to take pot shots at Jay Cutler.

really stoked about this

frogbs, Sunday, 6 August 2017 21:29 (eight years ago)

paraphrasing a deadspin comment but, the dolphins managed to sign a qb who doesn't care enough to avoid signing a qb who cares too much.

nomar, Sunday, 6 August 2017 21:33 (eight years ago)

eh I'll defend them on that one. Cutler's worked with Gase in the past and IMO he's a better QB in that system than Kaepernick would be. the fact that Kaep doesn't have a job right now is still insane though.

frogbs, Monday, 7 August 2017 18:09 (eight years ago)

DAVIE, Fla. -- Quarterback Jay Cutler looked the "same" during his first day of practice with the Miami Dolphins, coach Adam Gase said Tuesday.

RIP dolphins

nomar, Tuesday, 8 August 2017 20:44 (eight years ago)

the Kaep situation is really gross but I agree with frogbs, this was a "break glass if in need of QB that knows Gase's system already and fast" move.

RAvens signing an arena league backup over Kaep has more eyebrow raising for me

earlnash, Tuesday, 12 December 2017 15:05 (eight years ago)

not much

given how dismal cutler has been all season, and how much better he was last night, you can credibly concoct a scenario where gase looked ahead to this season, brought cutler in, and planned everything around winning this one game. a game that miami always wins.

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 12 December 2017 15:44 (eight years ago)

JC has had a couple other good starts. Really, he has been about as good as ever has been overall which is mediocre/middling.

He is definitely not the basement.

Cutler's a second-rate Favre who never really had the benefit of playing on a great team. for all the grief Chicagoans gave him I thought he had a lot of really good games w/ them.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/41867232/former-nfl-qb-jay-cutler-faces-dui-weapons-charges

Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler was arrested in Tennessee on Thursday night after a traffic crash and faces four charges, a spokesperson for the Franklin Police Department confirmed to ESPN.

Cutler, 41, was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a handgun while under the influence, failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision and implied consent.

According to a release from the Franklin Police Department, officers responded to a minor traffic collision in downtown Franklin around 5 p.m. on Thursday. The police investigation suggests that Cutler rear-ended another vehicle.

"During their conversation with Cutler, officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol," the release stated. "Cutler was also slurring his words and had blood shot eyes. Cutler refused field sobriety tests and was taken to a local hospital where a blood sample was obtained through a blood search warrant."

A police search of Cutler's vehicle revealed that he had two firearms in his possession, including a loaded pistol.
