“I wear them, they’re comfortable, they work for me, I don’t have to wear regular clothes,” (Ridley) said. “I wake up in the morning, put my underwear on, jump in my onesie and I’m out the door. It saves time. I get more sleep if I wear a onesie because I don’t have to wear regular clothes.”

He has given them to teammates, and even left one for Bill Belichick last week.

“I’m going to see if I can get him to wear it — it’s got the sleeves cut off and everything so he’s ready to go,” Ridley said, laughing. “He has no excuse.”

lol

Shaughnessy hates the Pats far more than the Texans do imo

I loved how Arian said he didn't believe in momentum in the postgame interview against cincy, after being asked the classic inane "will this win give you momentum going into next week?"

Talk about what a win like this means for your team.

patriots pr0n:

Ironically, the "old news" and ensuing four-game suspension earlier this season, said Talib, ended up being the "best thing" that ever happened to his football career.

Three weeks into the suspension, he became a Patriot.

Recalling the day, he smiled from ear to ear.

"I had heard about the Patriots and the way they do things, all that stuff," said Talib. "You know what? It's true. This is heaven. This is football heaven."
...

"I love him. Everybody here loves him," said Patriots safety Patrick Chung. "He has fit in really well. He has a lot of confidence. He can cover. He can tackle. I couldn't say enough good things about Aqib. He's the real deal."

Apparently, the feelings are more than mutual.

"As soon as you walk in the building you notice it," said Talib. "It's all about team here. Everybody is a professional. I have never experienced anything like this. I see the owner, Mr. (Robert) Kraft every day. That's amazing, man. Coach Belichick treats everybody like a man, with respect. He's a cool guy."

Talib could go on. And he did.

"I am a Patriot," said Talib. "It feels like I was meant to be here ... The coaches here are so good, too. It's all about football. It's one day at a time. It's the perfect place to play football. I don't know what else to say."

Even coach Bill Belichick, a man of few words, sings Talib's praises.

"There's no doubt that Aqib has helped our secondary," he said. "He's a very smart and confident player who works hard. He has a good attitude and he fits in well. I've enjoyed coaching him."

...

"I don't want to talk about the future," said Talib. "I'm only focused on today. And when I come here tomorrow, I'll be focused on tomorrow ... But if you ask me if this is where I want to be? Of course, I do. Every player should play here."

chicago kevin wrote this on thread the rolling OFFSEASON MOVES thread on board I Love NFL on Mar 12, 2007

i don't know what his contract looks like but i'd wager he would. i think the depth chart will probably be something like:

wr 1- richochet caldwell/stallworth
wr 2- caldwell/stallworth/gaffney
wr3- caldwell/stallworth/gaffney
wr4- troy brown/chad jackson/welker
wr5 -brown/jackson/welker/whatever other scrubs they sign.

brown's probably gone now thtat i look at it.

chicago kevin wrote this on thread the rolling OFFSEASON MOVES thread on board I Love NFL on Mar 13, 2007

with brown probably on his way out and kevin faulk entering the twilight of his career welker will probably be used primarily (if not solely) on special teams. i would be shocked if welker is anything more than a #3 receiver, i think he'll be situational at best.

underestimate "good guy" receivers with "intangibles" and "grittiness" and "a superior work ethic" at your own risk is the lesson here

NE did give up a 2nd rounder for Welker, who was coming off a 67-cath season, it's not like he was some nobody

Panaïs Pnin (The Yellow Kid), Thursday, 14 March 2013 04:32 (eleven years ago) link

welker was a scrubs in an all-fitting uniform on his way outta the league until we picked him up outta the dirt, wiped the chocolate off his face, and taught him how to run a 3 yard crossing route. we made him like eddie murphy in trading places and he turned on us, like eddie murphy in trading places. why didn't we watch the film to the end?? and now he's gone. forever lost to us. and he will look so terrible in orange and blue.

just have to hold it together until simmons drags some fallacious but comforting bullshit out of his ass about how the pats will be much better without him because of something to do with la law.
