Gruden was totally into Wilson on that QB Camp show on ESPN a few months back. Gruden seemed pretty impressed by him.

everyone raved about him but most ended up writing him off because he was short.

I really enjoyed watching Russell Wilson with the Badgers, he's the real deal

Jon Gruden kind of grills some of those guys pretty good on that show and some like Colt McCoy kind of wilt a bit under his badgering. Talking football, JG seemed really impressed by the game knowledge Wilson and that dude from Boise had (along with the obvious in Luck and the just unbelievable skills of RGIII). He stated the dude from Boise might not have the arm or body to make it work in the NFL, but he's a coach in waiting now. Gruden was kind of comparing Wilson a bit to dude like Brees who kind of had some of the similar knocks coming out of Purdue (too small, not a big enough arm) etc.

why is it a bad spot? There's no pressure, they have pretty good receivers, Carson Palmer is a good guy to learn from.

A bad spot would be some team that was trying to turn him into a pocket passer and throwing him to the wolves as a starter.

wayne hunter for jason smith, classic change of scenery trade

this seems like a clear improvement for the jets? smith is a bust as a top 3 pick, whereas hunter is a straight bust as an nfl player. i assume smith arrives with a hefty contract.

smith is terrible btw + also has a concussion history. he's a soft guy in a power run scheme. good luck, jets.
