Fitz was pretty bad in Nov, Dec, and Jan 2011-2:

65.5, 69.1, 60.7 passer ratings.

polyphonic, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 19:46 (fourteen years ago)

oh p.s. Bill, I'm sorry about being such a dick. You posts get on my nerves but ILNFL is supposed to be for bros I think, and I didn't need to go there.

polyphonic, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 19:48 (fourteen years ago)

yeah he's only had 8 pro starts and obviously is going to get better but he never was really projected too high out of college, was he? always thought he was a pretty big overdraft.

No problem. I seem to annoy a lot of people here, i think im just a shitty writer, because i seem to get along pretty well with most everyone in real life.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7714138/jacksonville-jaguars-teams-eyeing-denver-broncos-tim-tebow-source-says

Teams that have discussed a trade for quarterback Tim Tebow, either internally or with the Denver Broncos, include the Jacksonville Jaguars, Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Green Bay Packers

I would love this so much...

frogbs, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 20:27 (fourteen years ago)

I think Tebow should go somewhere like Jacksonville or Miami, where he would probably start. Going to a team with an established qb is just going to make life hell on everyone, like it did in Denver (see GQ article).

You're a notch, I'm a legend (Bill Magill), Tuesday, 20 March 2012 20:30 (fourteen years ago)

Even GB with a stud for a QB.

You're a notch, I'm a legend (Bill Magill), Tuesday, 20 March 2012 20:30 (fourteen years ago)

I'm guessing he's not going to play QB much if he goes there.

God, I hate to paraphrase Peter freakin' King on this, but Tebow really does seem like an athletic freak who just happens to not be good at his chosen position. Any team willing to open things up offensively could do some pretty interesting things with him.

frogbs, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 20:37 (fourteen years ago)

Miami not interested, reportedly.

polyphonic, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 20:55 (fourteen years ago)

but i don't think we're giving him a chance unless ponder is a total bust

I just don't know what Ponder is supposed to be GOOD at. His ceiling right now is like, Ryan Fitzpatrick. Maybe I haven't seen enough of him.

i don't think anyone who's being honest knows what we have in ponder. our offensive line was a COMPLETE disaster that got worse as the season went on, he was battling what was apparently a pretty major hip injury the last games of the season, rookie who got no training camp, then the failed mcnabb experiment, and basically (outside of percy harvin) one of the worst receiver corps in the league...

like i'm not saying he's going to be good or horrible or great or whatever, but the team invested (stretched for) a high pick on him and they will give him a chance to take the job and make it his...he's the starter game one, no question, based on everything they've been saying in the local media and on local sportstalk

konybrony (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 20 March 2012 22:33 (fourteen years ago)

of all the teams to sign with. damn. i hate the jets

some of us Jets fans don't want him, and will do extreme things if he becomes a Jets fan ... like become Patriots fans.

Roberto Spiralli, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 00:34 (fourteen years ago)

there's speculation that he lost a lot after his injury

"Tim Tebow's a great kid. If I want someone to marry my daughter, it's him," Elway said Tuesday.

frogbs, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 02:27 (fourteen years ago)

elway-tebow would be a hilarious hypenate

johnny crunch, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 02:34 (fourteen years ago)

What is Florio saying about #18. what i heard is that the guy gave his blessing to have it come out of retirement.

You're a notch, I'm a legend (Bill Magill), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 13:53 (fourteen years ago)

lol does florio seriously have an alternate story on this?

I see what you mean - just saying that based on their limited action (Webb got some in 2010 as well), Webb definitely has looked better and more like a guy who could become a force if given the proper coaching

twitter is claiming that shawn payton has been suspended for a full year

mookieproof, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 16:49 (fourteen years ago)

Gregg Williams indefinitely, and Loomis for 6 months

The New Orleans Saints are fined $500,000. In addition, because the violation involves a competitive rule, the Saints will forfeit their selections in the second round of the 2012 and 2013 NFL drafts.

Saints Head Coach Sean Payton is suspended without pay for the 2012 NFL season, effective April 1.

Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis is suspended without pay for the first eight regular-season games of the 2012 season.

Former Saints (and current St. Louis Rams) defensive coordinator Gregg Williams is suspended indefinitely from the NFL, effective immediately. Commissioner Goodell will review Coach Williams’ status at the conclusion of the 2012 season and consider whether to reinstate him, and, if so, on what terms. Commissioner Goodell said he will give close attention to the extent to which Coach Williams cooperates with the NFL in any further proceedings.

Saints assistant Head Coach Joe Vitt is suspended without pay for the first six regular-season games of the 2012 season.

polyphonic, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 17:12 (fourteen years ago)

second round picks for two years, your coach and general manager suspended and a few players, a half mill in fines.
this all seems about in keeping with the public outrage?

konybrony (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 17:22 (fourteen years ago)

great news for the rams, they can find someone competent

Daaaaaamn, Saints, that's what you get for jumping on the bed playing "Jacked UP".

so glad the NFL is putting an end to this violence thing once and for all

iatee, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 17:26 (fourteen years ago)

Roger Goodell’s punishment is far more severe than Payton was expecting.

“I did talk to him and he’s stunned to say the least,” Glazer said. “I think the entire team thought maybe there’d be a four-game suspension, but not a year. I said, ‘Are you OK?’ And he said, ‘No, I’m not OK.’ He is stunned. He’s going to lose about $8 million. He is beside himself here.”

polyphonic, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 17:29 (fourteen years ago)

$8 million?

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 17:30 (fourteen years ago)

Loomis's suspension doesn't start until the beginning of the regular season so I guess it won't affect his draft preparation.

Goodell is walking a highwire and this is a big wobble.

any major prude will tell you (WmC), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 17:42 (fourteen years ago)

i wonder how much they were able to link payton to the activity. clearly fairly explicitly

terrible rappin' barney rubble sounding thing (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 21 March 2012 17:43 (fourteen years ago)

i can imagine payton is stunned after getting that kind of punishment for something that has been a regular practice forever

mookieproof, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 17:45 (fourteen years ago)

yeah uh an entire season for Payton makes it seem like the Gregggg Easterbrooks of the world are calling the shots here, sigh

frogbs, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:01 (fourteen years ago)

this sucks, payton rules. looking forward to canks' response to this though!

omar little, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:13 (fourteen years ago)

punishment isn't about having a bounty system, it's about denying it for 3 years. goodell is a vindictive prick. but i don't feel bad for anyone involved obv.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:50 (fourteen years ago)

canks probably booked a ticket for New Orleans so he could taunt them in person

bnw, Wednesday, 21 March 2012 18:53 (fourteen years ago)

carmichael probably assume head coach duties for the season, then?
