Pretty much leaves Jax and Jax alone as Tebow's landing spot, though.

i am still expecting a surprise team to come out of the woodwork to compete for him. vikes? browns?
― Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 02:49 (fourteen years ago)
Browns have publicly expressed disinterest.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 02:52 (fourteen years ago)
interest will come depending on the price -- if they're willing to trade him for two fifth rounders or something i think you'd see some teams think about taking a flyer on him just to have him compete in training camp
― 3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 20 March 2012 02:53 (fourteen years ago)
Do players get a cut of their jersey sales? Because, like, every single person in Denver and most of Florida bought Tebow jerseys, right? Now he can start from scratch in a new city.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 02:57 (fourteen years ago)
gregg rosenthal has buffalo in the lead, which kinda makes sense considering they signed brad smith to a $13m deal or something http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d827b36c8/article/tim-tebow-stock-watch-where-will-he-play-in-2012?module=HP11_hot_topics

Florio postulates:
1. The Rams. They volunteered to play in England in part because they believe that it will make them like the Cowboys and Steelers. It won’t.Tebow could.Throw in the ongoing struggles to sell tickets (sellouts undoubtedly come from owner Stan Kroenke buying up the unsold seats at 34 cents on the dollar) and a possible move to Los Angeles, and Tebow makes plenty of sense wearing horns from a creature other than, you know, the devil.2. The Vikings.Speaking of horns, Tebow could help maximize local interest during what could be a lame-duck season in Minnesota. The Vikings are getting no closer to getting a new stadium built. Tebowmania could be the thing that gets it done.3. The Bengals.Wanna sell those empty seats at Paul Brown Stadium? Put Tebow in orange and black. He’s relatively inexpensive, and he’d help owner Mike Brown shed, to some extent, the perception that he isn’t interested in doing something bold.4. The Saints. What better way to push the Bountygate mess off the front page than to give coach Sean Payton a unique weapon?Once, of course, Payton’s likely suspension ends.5. The Eagles. If coach Andy Reid can’t turn Tebow into a traditional passer, no one can.Given what Reid did with Mike Vick, the Eagles may make the most sense of any team.6. The Cowboys.America’s Team can’t be America’s Team without the most popular NFL player in America. They’d have more than 100,000 for every home game — assuming they can get enough seats installed in time.7. The Steelers.Offensive coordinator Todd Haley would surely love nothing more than to be the guy who finds a way to get the most out of Tebow.Especially since his nemesis Josh McDaniels got fired before he could really try.8. The Colts.Concerned that fans won’t show up to watch a crappy team? Add Tebow. They’ll be there.9. The Buccaneers. The Bucs bought several big-name (and big-money) free agents in order to fill up a half-empty stadium. For a lot less money, they could sell the place out every week by adding Tebow.10. The Chiefs.Spurned by Peyton Manning an developing a penchant for taking quality players cast aside by division rivals, why not give Tebow the chance to return to Denver once per year?

― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 03:03 (fourteen years ago)
ANYWAY
philadelphia is a team that makes tons of sense, come to think of it. tebow might not be better than kafka but clearly by signing vince young last year they wanted someone with a skillset that's sorta close to vick... and they will definitely make bold trades. kinda like that suggestion.
― 3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 20 March 2012 03:04 (fourteen years ago)
Speaking of, we've seen the end of Vince Young right?
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 03:06 (fourteen years ago)
yeah he doesn't seem very interested in being an NFL qb
― 3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 20 March 2012 03:06 (fourteen years ago)
It's fitting that he and Leinart, qbs of the greatest college nat'l championship game ever, washed out in the NFL and will now sit around and wait for "remember when" interviews.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 03:10 (fourteen years ago)
leinart will at least stick around for prob like 5 more years if he wants cuz it seems like he realized that he was being a lazy asshole -- vince on the other hand....

I didnt see what the guaranteed money (if any) for garrard was. He may not even make the team.

yeah i doubt there is much if any guaranteed money there

vikings doesn't make much sense, we have a tebow style type guy in joe webb who i honestly like a lot better in the long term, also we just re-signed sage rosenfels to be our jobber vet backup...plus they are super invested in ponder and locally it seems like they really think he's the guy for the future (whether that's right or not)
― konybrony (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 20 March 2012 19:09 (fourteen years ago)
I really like the idea of giving Webb a chance, if only because I think the Vick/RG3/Tebow/Cam style offense become big in the next few years, also he seems a lot more talented than Ponder
― frogbs, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 19:14 (fourteen years ago)
all the speculation makes it seem like it's either gonna be the dolphins or the jags, or a "mystery team" that isn't in desperate need of a QB and/or doesn't have a competing young QB that needs playing time to develop, i.e. green bay or philly
― 3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 20 March 2012 19:16 (fourteen years ago)
also i think he could develop into a much better passer than tebow as well
(but i don't think we're giving him a chance unless ponder is a total bust)
― konybrony (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 20 March 2012 19:16 (fourteen years ago)
also i think the bills could def be a possibility
― 3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 20 March 2012 19:18 (fourteen years ago)
The Bills openly clowned the Broncos for drafting Tebow so I doubt it.
― polyphonic, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 19:20 (fourteen years ago)
they did?
― 3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 20 March 2012 19:21 (fourteen years ago)
Well, more specifically, for drafting him so early. I think they liked him as a late round flier. I can't find where I read that, though. :/
― polyphonic, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 19:32 (fourteen years ago)
"The Bills" clowned the Broncos? Who, the players? The front office? the GM? the fans? All of the Bills "clowned" the Broncos for picking Tebow? what does that even mean?
― You're a notch, I'm a legend (Bill Magill), Tuesday, 20 March 2012 19:36 (fourteen years ago)
but i don't think we're giving him a chance unless ponder is a total bust
I just don't know what Ponder is supposed to be GOOD at. His ceiling right now is like, Ryan Fitzpatrick. Maybe I haven't seen enough of him.
― frogbs, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 19:36 (fourteen years ago)
This is the article I was thinking of:

His ceiling right now is like, Ryan Fitzpatrick.
That's a ceiling that's getting higher each season imo.

Fitz was pretty bad in Nov, Dec, and Jan 2011-2:
65.5, 69.1, 60.7 passer ratings.
― polyphonic, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 19:46 (fourteen years ago)
oh p.s. Bill, I'm sorry about being such a dick. You posts get on my nerves but ILNFL is supposed to be for bros I think, and I didn't need to go there.
― polyphonic, Tuesday, 20 March 2012 19:48 (fourteen years ago)
yeah he's only had 8 pro starts and obviously is going to get better but he never was really projected too high out of college, was he? always thought he was a pretty big overdraft.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7714138/jacksonville-jaguars-teams-eyeing-denver-broncos-tim-tebow-source-says
Teams that have discussed a trade for quarterback Tim Tebow, either internally or with the Denver Broncos, include the Jacksonville Jaguars, Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Green Bay Packers
