I'm not sure that Matt Moore can not be servicable, especially if the defense is there and they can run the ball some. Matt Flynn had a great game with the best offense in football around him and 'might' be good, but he is no more of a sure thing than Matt Casel or say Kevin Kolb. Sometimes that gambit pays off like with Matt Hasselbeck, but often times it doesn't. I'd probably gamble and put the cash towards beefing up the total talent, as it isn't like Miami is in it to win it this year anyway.

I think Washington is going to get rooked with giving that much cash to Garcon. He's got speed, but I don't think is great. Not knowing stats, but Garcon seemed to me to drop quite a few balls.

on the one hand i really hope it's not the broncos but the ensuing mania over tebow's future would be HILARIOUS & AMAZING

especially if the jags go all in for him, then they'd have wasted a top 10 pick on gabbert, so he's got to go somewhere... the whole thing would be delicious

This is a valid point. I think Moore is slightly underrated among the non-elite qb class.

okay, let's say you're the GM of a team that desperately needs a franchise QB after years of failure, how much would you give to acquire a guy like Aaron Rodgers, Matt Stafford, or Cam Newton, someone who could be the face of the franchise for the next 10 years? between 3-5 first rounders? i dunno, just saying I see where the Skins are coming from in this trade, even if it's monumentally stupid (it only looks "okay" next to the Carson Palmer trade)

taking contracts into account kind of messes up the entire exercise (if cam is as good next year as he was last year, he might be the most affordable player in the NFL) but i'd trade A LOT of picks for either of those three guys

or at least it's free agency is so lame

since the game is so risky, everyone just takes the most money. obviously, you can't blame the players in the least for doing that, but it kinda takes the fun out of it. it's like, you can just see who has the most cap space and put the top players on those teams.

also since all the contracts are worth like 40% of what the amount is and basically any player in the nfl can be cut at anytime and the team gets a minimal penalty, the entire exercise is pretty stupid.

ultimately that's what leads to players hiding injuries and not reporting concussions, so yeah I would love to see that changed

I think it's a rule that if your last name is Williams and you play DL, at some point in your career you have to play for Buffalo.

According to PFT, Dolphins are giving Flynn a low ball offer which should send him right into the waiting arms of Seattle.

i'm not a huge jeff ireland fan but i think ppl are getting too apocalyptic over the QB thing... there's no way they were gonna get griffin, and peyton didn't work out but *shrug* -- matt flynn may be good, but if the best case scenario is that he ends up as matt schaub... well dolphin fans could certainly find plenty of reasons to hate matt schaub

and i said before, if philbin turns into a great coach then that's good enough... they'll run into a QB eventually
